Story
My Grandmother, Agnes Bartlett, used to own Cardinal Woolsey's knitting shop then died and left her shop to me, without informing me that she wasn't actually dead. She's a vampire and part of the world's strangest craft circle-the Vampire Knitting Club. As you might imagine, this means she's free to interfere in how I run the business that used to be hers. She's trying to teach me to knit, and it's not going well. She's also trying to teach me how to be a witch, since it turns out I'm from a long line of witches.

Story
With a name like Quinn Calahan, I sounded as Irish as a leprechaun dancing a jig on a four leafed clover, but the truth was, I’d never been closer to the emerald isle than drinking green beer at the St Patrick’s day street party in Boston until I messed up so badly I had to leave the US. I was offered a job in a tiny village in Ireland that no one’s ever heard of. And I think that was the point in sending me there.

Summary
Elderflower Tea Shop is next door to Cardinal Woolsey's, the yarn shop Lucy runs and home to the late-night Vampire Knitting Club. The tea shop owners are a pair of octogenarian spinsters and old family friends, so Lucy wants to help clear up the mystery that's keeping their shop closed. But murder isn't the only issue troubling the Miss Watts. A man has come between them. Miss Florence Watt is being romanced by an old flame, one Mary Watt distrusts.
In between figuring out who, among his many enemies, might have poisoned the unpleasant Colonel Montague, Lucy's trying to brush up on her magic spells before the Wiccan potluck dinner her witchy cousin insists she attend. However, she's still settling into being a witch and since she botched a spell and blew up her kitchen, she's taking the magic slowly.
Her knitting endeavors aren't much better. Between purling when she should knit and dropping so many stitches her hand-knit scarf looks like it was attacked by giant moths, there are days Lucy thinks she'll pack it all in and move back to Boston. She might, except she'd miss her beloved undead grandmother, her new friends, one very sexy vampire, and a local detective who is very much alive.

very average?
So I bought this partly because I'm from Oxfordshire and quite homesick during lock down. I also love cheesy vampire books. I don't really reccomend buying this book if your from the area. Anyone from the area will find the mistakes quite grating. For example, Cotswold stone is not grey its a lovely warm yellow colour, I also don't recall seeing any cotswold hills and sheep on the drive from Oxford to Woodstock. And Warwick is not pronounced correctly!
Aside from those disappointments the story is fine, it's a nice and relaxing book to listen to and I did enjoy that. Though I find these books a bit short really to be deserving of a credit!
I would reccomend to people who enjoy a light hearted easy listen with a small amount of supernatural fun thrown in.

Fun but not too sure about the narration.
I enjoyed the first book in this series and enjoyed this story too. But I am struggling a tad with the narration. The narrator is a good 'actor' but the British and Australian accents aren't good and I found it distracting. The pronunciation of some words and phrases were wrong. I don't think it will stop me from purchasing the next book . I will stick with it and hope the narration improves.

I’ve listened to this series twice back to back and love it. The characters are fun and quirky and I love the idea of knitting vampires! And I like the descriptions and details as well as the storyline. In my opinion the narrator does a great job between American and English accents. Looking forward to seeing how things develop!

Tea Service Tragedy
We return to the series and this volume happens at a slightly faster pace than the last with folks trying to find a rhythm and Lucy trying to navigate her new role as shopkeeper. There are funny moments as she deals with her newly turned vamp grandmother, burgeoning magical abilities, and social circles both human and supernatural. The twists and turns of the mystery were a delight to listen along to and Sarah Zimmerman continues to do a marvelous job narrating realistic characters with a range of accents. The murders and drama with the townsfolk was done well and drew me in and I felt emotionally invested in finding out the truth. There was only one moment where Lucy after making repeated comments about her fear of the main male vampire she talks with then runs headlong into unnecessary danger that left me confused and bewildered as it felt totally contradictory to most of what Lucy usually does but resolved quite quickly and even other characters pointed out her illogical choice. I continue to enjoy this exploration through the eyes of this little knit shop with growing communities in both worlds for our main character. There is really no romance to speak of but a delightful expansion on the varying relationships in the town. This definitely builds nicely on the first volume and I look forward to the next.

Fun book
Stitches and Witches is book 2 of the Vampire Knitting Club series. In this book, Lucy helps to solve the murder of an acquaintance of once of the Ms. Watts. Lucy also starts learning more about being a witch.
I have been binging this series and haven’t been reviewing them in between each book. Some overall observations from the series so far (I have finished through book 8.5 and am partway through book 9) are that the stories are always cute and good for a short escape. I really enjoy the characters and have a vested interest in them. Something I have noticed, though, is that there isn’t continuity between books and the books really could have benefited from a proofreader. For example, in book 1, Lucy is 27 but in book 6, she has her 26th birthday. In one of the books, Rafe is at least 600 years old, but in the next book, he is only 500 years old. Occasionally there is an incorrect name used but I always know what was meant so it doesn’t confuse me or make it so that I can’t continue. Another thing that is missing, at least to the point I am at now, is any real information about the vampires. We don’t get to know anything about their abilities, only that they are vampires who feed via a blood bank. Even with the inconsistencies, I am hooked on the series and enjoy these easy-going, clean, cozy mysteries. It is a nice palette cleanser from the smutty stuff I typically enjoy.
The narrator is the same throughout the series and she does a great job. I recommend this series.

Such a cute premise
I really enjoy this series on my long commute. So fun to see my hobbies prominently included. The narrator is a bit distracting if you notice her odd rhythm patterns. Noone actually talks like that, and her Australian accent sounds like it more Liverpool, but emotions were conveyed accurately.
