Summary

If you are looking to gain knowledge on one of the most highly diagnosed anxiety disorders in the mental health field, Social Anxiety: How to Exorcise Your Social Demons is the book that you have been looking for.

Social Anxiety Disorder or Social Phobia can be recognized early on in life. Children often reveal signs of anxiety at an early stage. The earlier you recognize the symptoms and signs, the earlier you can make positive life changes. Social skills are a learned skill that lead to healthy communication skills; including verbal, non-verbal and assertiveness. Assertiveness is what allows you to get your needs met. This book outlines and offers explanation on how these components all work together.

When someone has reached recognition, it is time to accept and treat. This book promotes ways to accept struggle points and learn to move past them. There are many treatment options available, but the common theme is practice, practice, practice!

Whether you are listening to this as purely informational or you or someone you know might have social anxiety disorder, the information in this book is easy to follow.

Inside you will find

  • Symptoms of social anxiety disorder
  • Situations that trigger those symptoms
  • Information on learning on social skills as a learned skill
  • Ways you can recognize and accept social anxiety
  • What kind of treatment is available for people with social anxiety
  • How to reach your goal of having a "normal" social circle

Understanding yourself is the first step to control. Determine where you are, where you want to be, and find out how to get there.

I suffer from debilitating anxiety and it's been extremely bad the past 9 months. This book is perfect. It's written perfectly and you can tell that the book was intended as a tool to help people with anxiety. I have a few others by different authors and they're junk. I definitely recommend this.

This is a great book! Even if you don't think you don't suffer from anxiety it gives great coping skills for multiple life situations. The best was helping to get rid of the "guilt" factor. I applaud the author for making this information so understandable and relatable to so many life experiences.I hope there are more publications to come!

four stars

I bought this book as I was hoping it would help me improve my assertiveness and make me slightly more extroverted or expressing myself more comfortably. However, as the title perhaps indicated, it seems to me this workbook is for people who have more serious shyness problems beyond the level of ordinary social awkwardness. I can't judge how good a resource it is for that purpose and therefore I rate it four stars.

ideal book

My favorite part is when it went over 'anxious thinking' and how to break your thoughts down to prevent and control your thoughts. I highly recommend this book if you have anxiety or if you have someone in your life that is suffering through anxiety as well.

resoureful book

I've been going over this workbook with my young adult daughter. It's been slow going; however, she is receptive in giving it a try. So far the first chapter is easy to follow. As I have glanced through the rest of the book, it looks like it's easy to follow and perfect for my daughter's issues.

valuable book

This book went along with the other two that I had reviewed. I am a very shy person with social anxiety. This hands on book is a great tool to help me deal with my issues and teach me more about them. There are a lot of exercises that go along with the reading. I really love the goal setting area in chapter 4. The chapter is all about change. I really love this aodio book! I did receive this free in exchange for my honest review.

social anxiety

I like that this book is pretty easy to understand and useful! If you experience anxiety, this book gives you several examples of situations and step by step techniques to use to help you to better yourself, for things that can and do occur in our lives. There are activities in this book to complete, so that you'll learn how to find your strengths and weaknesses, and therefore you can make helpful changes in your life. Part one of the book talks about understanding your social anxiety. Part two of the book addresses how to overcome social anxiety and enjoy your life. In the back of the book there is a list of other recommended books to have on this subject and it also provides internet resources that you can use

excellent introduction

A good place to start if you want to help yourself to overcome some of the problems that social anxiety and shyness can cause, and is easy to work though at home, with no further instruction, but I feel like I would do better with the use of a face to face consultation rather than working through the entire book as I often get distracted and have to focus on other things. This is definitely a good bet for anyone determined to get started on a transformation and someone ready to embrace the world. Worth picking up! Ieceived this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
