Stunningly Beautiful
I was quite surprised to find this book under Orson Scott Card's works. I mean, a science fiction author writing a christian historical fiction story?
But WOW! Did he get it right.
This is the first time I see a version of Sarah's story and I must say Im in love.
The plot was so cleverly done with so many twists and turns, you almost forget you know how it ends.
The detail and research put into this book was absolutely overwhelming. From the lands they moved to, to the culture differences between peoples(especially the egyptians)
The characters were really put into perspective. I personally just thought of Abraham and Sarah as an old couple just following God's instructions. What a wake up call.
Sarai was illustrated as a young girl raised in a king's house with her own fears and struggles, Abraam a brilliant business man and strategist with his own mistakes and prejudices.
The antagonists were so well written, as in they made me want to scream at them and physically strangle them. Especially the ones you thought could be trusted.
Lastly the rationship between Sarah and Abraham was so beautifully real. With pain, disagreements, and struggles, but with an ever-present, unbreakable love and faith.
This book will literally change your life, as well as the way you view the entire Bible.
