Summary

Tegan Raccini's heart has been hardened her parent's divorce, and by the recent loss of her bad-boy biker lover to a lifelong prison sentence. She isn't bitter; in fact, she's rather upbeat. But, she simply doesn't trust men.

When she causes an accident with a motorcycle on the freeway, she's immediately attracted to the handsome biker, but knows she can't stand another heartbreak. Even though she's unemployed, she agrees to pay for the damages, hoping to never see him again.

To earn the money for the repairs to his motorcycle, she accepts a job as the in-home caregiver for an elderly man who is confined to a wheelchair.

There's one problem when she shows up at his home.

A big problem.

He's the biker's father.

Rough is a stand-alone MC romance with no cheating, no sex outside the relationship, and no cliffhanger. It has an HEA, and although it is book two of a series, no other book is required to tell this tale. For the complete experience, and to understand the ancillary characters fully, reading Hard before Rough is recommended.

Great story

This is my first listen, but I've read this book before. I'm a huge Scott Hildreth fan. This is about Pee Bee and Tegan. It's sweet, sexy and a bit sad. However, I wasn't crazy about the narration. Both male and female simply read the story. I prefer to have different voices for each character. It was hard to tell who was talking. If that isn't bothersome to you, then give this try.

Funny and Deep - Just An All Round Great Book!

What did you love best about Rough?

The sense of humour in Rough grabbed my attention from the very first chapter. I laughed out several times while listening and when I wasn't cracking up I had a big, stupid grin on my face.

What did you like best about this story?

It's been a long time since I've listened to a biker romance that I genuinely liked and was interested in beyond the sassy parts.

All of the characters are relatable and multi faceted.

The book covered the emotional side of romance very well, not just the sex parts. You understand just why the characters are into each other, it's not just lust. The build up from their initial, disastrous meeting unravelled nicely with the right amount of conversation, banter and then flirting.

Have you listened to any of Holly Warren and Aaron Sin ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to any of Holly Warren or Aaron Sin's other performances, but they both did an excellent performance narrating Rough.

Holly's voice was great and I loved how she narrated Marcus! She didn't do an over the top, exaggerated effeminate imitation but she really brought his sass and humour to life.

Aaron's voice was also really good and his narration of old man Bradley was brilliant!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A Slow Burn.

Any additional comments?

It was a great read and I can't wait to listen to more of Scott Hildreth's books.

The A#*hole hero

I liked this book, but the main character PB is a total a$#hole from jump! I recommend reading the first book in the series to get a better feel for him, otherwise it’s really hard to take him. He is extremely rude for the entire beginning and seriously hard to see him as worthy of the hr!

seemed to take a very long time

the H went half way through the story being a constant and complete jerk. then it was like a switched flipped and overnight he became a decent person. hhhmmm. the h was straight up too good for him. there were a multiple touching moments but no smiles. the father was a mystery, mean, verbally abusive, but several hundred ppl show up at his funeral....why?? Not far from the end the father tried to teach the H some things about monogamy and chastity. This was the sole interesting thing in the entire story. I don't honestly know why I finished it.....

the characters were painful to listen to

I couldn't finish the book. the main character acts like she is traumatized over the crime her ex committed. she wasn't even there. I cant. idl maybe I've just been through to much and I'm tougher than the main character, but i could not relate. pass

Great listen

This isnt your standard MC romance, their isnt a damsel in distress, and a rival gang kidnapping. This is comedy, love, connection and respect, oh and its Bradly... he won my heart.

Worth every bit of money you spend

Avid listener this is my first book but it won’t be the last. This story had heart and I was able to live thru the story. I’m the Deanna in this story. As for the MC the story was true to form. Great book worth every dollar. Enjoy this wonderful book.

Unlikeable lead characters

The H, biker gang member Peebee, was unnecessarily a supreme ass, and the dialogue between the H, Peebee, and the h, a 25-yr-old, financially-strapped nurse, Tegan, didn't flow. It was awkward and unnatural. So there was no connection. Then Peebee/Brad had a sudden epiphany that was hard to believe. And later became almost effusive. It was hard to believe. And Teagan was too much of a rug w/ him which contradicted some of her earlier statements, which indicated immaturity and was unappealing. They didn't rush into sex, and it wasn't immediate lust, which was nice. But, again, Tegan's rush to have sex, her initiating it, was contradictory and seemed to indicate that her love of her sex was greater than her self-interest. She was immature or worse. I found the relationship between Peebee and his dad much more interesting. I have no problem with profanity, but the author seriously overused f**k in a weird way. Apparently he believes that's what makes a biker. I don't know if the story was supposed to be mildly humorous at times, but it was. At times I found the male narrator's voice higher than I would like for Peebee, the violent, profane, hard biker.

Good but narration throws me off at times

Good story but the narrators sometimes do a poor job of differentiating between characters. Overall well done
