Summary

In 2006, Christianity Today voted The God Who Is There as one of the top 50 books that have shaped evangelicals.

For decades, The God Who Is There has been the landmark book that changed the way the church sees the world. In Francis Schaeffer's remarkable analysis, we learn where the clashing ideas about God, science, history, and art came from and where they are going. This edition includes a foreword by James W. Sire that places Schaeffer's seminal work in the context of the intellectual turbulence of the early 21st century.

More than ever, The God Who Is There demonstrates how historic Christianity can fearlessly confront the competing philosophies of the world. The God who has always been there continues to provide the anchor of truth and the power of love to meet the world's deepest problems.

The Relevant,Loving God

Crystal-clear solid bible-based, accurate and thourough expostulation about the God who IS , and the historical efficacy in comparison to the socialistic/humanistic/psychologic counterparts. I learned SO much, and had my faith strengthened and affirmed over and over. I found it best to read this in "bites", so that I could slowly digest and assimilate the material, which is EXTREMELY powerful. You may not agree totally, but you will see God clearer, and stand firmer in your faith in Him as never before.

great book , not so great narrator

The content was terrific. Narrator was too choppy for my taste. I often found it difficult to follow the book's thought patterns because of the stilted delivery

Brilliant

A must read for anyone serious about answering the hopelessness brought about by rationalism in the modern age; as relevant now as it was in the late 60's.

Superb content with well done narration!

Schaeffer communicates deep concepts wonderfully well and the narrator delivers it splendidly. Immediately listened to it again a 2nd time at 1.5X speed to further solidify the depths that were plumbed.
