Exciting adventure

Even better and more exciting than the first one!! This only makes me more excited to listen to the 3rd and 4th books, although will be surprised if they beat this book.

Wow, this second book in series is even better than the first. A performance to match the greats and a story that will hook you from the start. Enjoy

Traction cities move on!

I read the book with my son a few years ago . Revisiting it through Audible has been great fun, and Barnaby Edwards’ narration is first rate. The characterisations are first rate, the plot draws you in, and I was completely emersed in the world of traction cities. Can’t wait to get started on ‘Infernal Devices’

The narrator is superb

The narrator has unique voices for each character which he sticks to. These are consistent with the character's personality and so really help flesh them out. The narration made this book so much better and helped me get to the end since I am an infrequent reader.

Great follow up

I'm always feel some reluctance when starting the follow up to a book I really enjoyed as I've come across many that do not live up to the expectations I have.

I'm very pleased to say this was not one of those books. thoroughly enjoyed it and a seamless continuation from the first book in the series.

Wonderful world

This author really has created a new world in which I have emerged myself in. Not only is the story believable but it gives me goose bumps.

Just as good as the first, keep you interested

I usually listen to these books while I work out, but I found myself sitting on the mats afterwards just listening, completely enraptured by the story. I finished it far too quick.

the middle was disappointing

the beginning was good, the ending was good, the middle was insufferable. I only finished it because the first book was Mortal engines. Without giving too much away, I struggled through that cliche big misunderstanding Trope where all the characters have an unneeded conflict and then have to go and mope and do things that are completely out of their character. if you can get through that, it's almost worth it for the end.

The adventure continues

Loved how quickly this tale unfolded. The characters were well drawn and the villains were not always who you expected.

Book 2 is a weaker entry

Story is not on par with the first entry, but the performance is still top notch! I found it interesting enough to want to finish it, and plan to pick up the next book in the series.

A roller-coaster of emotion

Sometimes 8 was tempted to set it down and never pick it back up. Not because it's boring. But because it is frustrating. Still, it's worth the read. And it's enough to get me to spend another $12 on the next book.

entertaining

Great story wish it was more detailed though. You feel that this series could be much more if it added more character building and back stories to it. Still a great book.
