Story
Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek God. I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. That's when things started really going wrong. Now I spend my time fighting with swords, battling monsters with my friends, and generally trying to stay alive. This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Luke is a comic-mad 11-year-old who shares a tree house with his geeky older brother, Zack. Luke's only mistake is to go for a wee right at the wrong time. While he's gone, an alien gives his undeserving, never-read-a-comic-in-his-life brother superpowers and then tells him to save the universe. Luke is massively annoyed about this, but when Zack is kidnapped by his archnemesis, Luke and his friends have only five days to find him and save the world.... Hilariously narrated by Joe Thomas.

Good end to the sarga
What made the experience of listening to Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian the most enjoyable?
By listening to the words you can close your eye and imaging all the mystical creatures are appearing around you rather than having to focus on the word yourself.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Grover because of his focus on the importance of protecting nature for the benefit of everyone.
What does Jesse Bernstein bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
By listening to the words you can close your eye and imaging all the mystical creatures are appearing around you rather than having to focus on the word yourself.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not really although I do feel that it drew the overall story to a good end for all the main characters.

The Revenge of the Gods
A fantastic ending to a great series of books. Annabeth and our hero triumphs again and we enjoy both a good ending and the journey throughut the story.
The reading is well paced and does justice to the book, although not spectacular.

Percy Jackson & The Last Olympian
At last a teen book that gets children interested in Greek mythology! My kids all love this series and don't realise how much they are learning about the Greek gods whilst listening to a good story. Percy Jackson carries on his unusual life as a demi-god saving the day again in a story that races along keeping you on the edge of your seat right up until the final moments. It kept us all gripped during a long car journey and even my husband enjoyed it!

Great story, not a great narrator
The narrator is ok but he makes super weird choices for some of the voices and he cannot do any accents besides American! Also between the books he forgets what voice he did for certain characters and it changes.

Such a brilliant end to the first five books
I’ve been a fan of the series since I was maybe 14 and now as an adult I still love these books. Bernstein’s narration is lots of fun (it did take me a while to get past some questionable British accents that come in from time to time) I think it’s a great narration however. I hope you enjoy this audiobook as much as I have

Great story, not great narrator.
Love this book series. Great finale that tied up nicely but left room for further development if desired. Narrator chose strange voices at times, and sometimes mixed character voices up. I think Ethan Nakamura would have been better without the narrator doing a Japanese accent (unless the narrator is Japanese in which case, it's up to him) and I really wish Persephone hadn't sounded like a chain smoking old man. Her mother got a rough deal as well. At another point Nico spontaneously aged a few years (voice wise). I can't remember whether he got back to normal again.

Dissapointing conclusion
The title best summarizes my thoughts. I am not saying its a bad book or series by any means. However i also think that while none of the questions were left unanswered it could have been much better. I would still reccomend the series to any fans of fantasy or greek mythology or both. In those aspects it was amazing. Story wise though it was not as good as it could have been. #Monsters #MythologyInspired #ChosenOne #tagsgiving #sweepstakes
