The case for leaving the eu. Great

A very articulate reasoned account of why we should leave the eu. Written and published just before the referendum and a very good balanced practical view of why we should return to full democracy.
Now, in January 2024 this book looks fairly accurate. Someone said that Brexit would be more of a process than an event and that is proving to be the case. We have 70 free trade deals, some just rolled over, some enhanced and some brand new. Our covid vaccine policy caught the eu completely off guard which humiliated them and forced them to nearly break a few laws. Our help to Ukraine even before the Russians invaded also unnerved the eu and in particular france and Germany but it allowed the UK to lead Poland, Finland and other eu states to force a very reluctant Germany ( remember the 5000 helmets) and France ( remember Macron trying to look important appeasing putin at the incredibly long table) . The whole Ukraine situation really showed UK influence that would have been difficult if we were still an eu member. It showed UK intelligence services were first rate while french and German completely failed to see what was coming.
AUKUS also shows UK influence on the global stage and like the “five eyes” no other eu state has that capability. The french military failed in Mali of all places despite UK spy planes and intel, UK heavy lift transport aircraft, UK heavy lift helicopters. The french asked for UK attack helicopters but they were refused. All these capabilities the french lack.
If you google NHS annual budget you will see theatre it is getting about £30 billion extra a year. That works out even more than the weekly figure on the side of the bus.
I am immensely proud that we are now the only genuine fully democratic sovereign country in the whole of Western Europe. Even Norway and Switzerland are eu rule takers. We are once again holding the beacon for freedom and democracy.
Still work to do with reducing eu regulations, European court of justice, fishing quotas but we still have many people in Parliament, bbc and other MSM who are reluctant to embrace Brexit.
The eu is suffering at the moment very badly. Some of that is from covid, Ukraine but also because of Brexit. Interestingly UK exports to the eu are higher than before the referendum and eu exports to the UK are now lower than before the referendum so they have suffered in trying to make us suffer.
We need to constantly press our politicians to do more and not waver. This is the challenge going forward but so far we are Ok.
Project fear predictions (lies) have not materialised.

Good arguments from a sound mind.

Well written and narrated. I listened to this before the referendum, though I had already made up my mind. However the arguments are solid and sound. As it happens we have now voted to leave and raise our eyes to a broader horizon.

convincing argument for leaving the EU

Listened in one sitting. Fascinating from start to finish. An alternative and very plausible argument to the endless pro-EU scaremongering and propaganda churned out on a daily basis by the media.

Brilliant synopsis of our position.

A very well written synopsis of our position in the EU. Easy listening and entertaining and just the right level of detail. If only we all knew the facts as presented. Citizens of this country unite and vote for our freedom.

First Class in both content and delivery

Dan Hannan is not only a bright and gifted orator but makes a compelling argument on the merits of leaving the European Union. The points are made in a lucid and understandable way and its a cracking listen.
