Follow along in various criminal investigations as astute investigators race to solve cold murder cases. Some of the cases in this true crime anthology will boggle your mind as much as the police were when they investigated them. There are also some true crime murder cases profiled where killers have yet to be brought to justice and, unfortunately, probably never will be. You may have already heard about some of these cases, while it will be the first time you hear about others, but make no mistake, you will keep listening for more.

So start listening and hear about bizarre abductions, true murder cases, and other strange crimes that have intrigued people around the world. Once you do, you will want to hear more.

    Story
    "True Cut and Paste Crime"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. This book is nothing more than a cut and paste collection of the Readers Digest versions of news clippings. There was no research. No in-depth study. It was a compilation of news clippings.

Has True Crime Stories Volume 4 turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. One bad book does not make a genre. The only true crime in this book was the publishing.

What three words best describe Thomas Stone’s performance?

    Flat
Dry
Consistent

Could you see True Crime Stories Volume 4 being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    Stranger things have happened.

    Any additional comments?

I listen to audiobooks while I work around the house. I usually find myself stopping, and rewinding sections of an audiobook, when I realize that there was a section of dialogue, or an important detail in the story that I'd missed while distracted. I never stopped to rewind any part of this book. At some point I just let it run... It became background noise that kept me company, like a television playing in another room.

    "great short stories about killers"

This book is a great compilation of short stories about murders. The new reader makes the stories have a bit of a "Dick Tracey" feel and fits the stories. Overall, a great and quick read!

"Great short and sweet tales of true crimes"
If you could sum up True Crime Stories Volume 4 in three words, what would they be?

    Great, Short, Fascinating

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

All the true short stories told in an excellent knowledgeable perspective.

What does Thomas Stone bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

There were times and I hope it wasn't just me but I could've sworn that there were two narrators instead of one. He does an excellent job of keeping you engaged with the stories.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No real movement but I did enjoy the stories that took place in North Carolina since that's where I live now.

    Any additional comments?

I have never read any of the other True Crime stories but after listening to this one I will definitely check them out. "I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom."

"Interesting stories but needed different narrator."
Would you consider the audio edition of True Crime Stories Volume 4 to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the printed version

What other book might you compare True Crime Stories Volume 4 to and why?

    None

Would you be willing to try another one of Thomas Stone’s performances?

I don't think so. His accent, or accents, was difficult. He was so distracting it was hard to keep focused on the stories. It seemed like his accent kept changing so it just repeatedly threw me off the stories.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I like these types of books. I am into true crime stories so I didn't really have any strong reactions.

    "Just ok, in my opinion."
What did you like best about True Crime Stories Volume 4? What did you like least?

I liked the foreign stories the best because I had little exposure to them, except for the Knox case which we've all had plenty of exposure to.

I didn't read Vol 1 - 3 so I didn't know the format going into it. I expected more in depth accounts but each case felt more like a high level summary. It reminded me of the podcasts Sword & Scale or Generation Why. Like a one hour highlights of each story. Those are fine and entertaining and so was most of this book, I just had expected more.

If you’ve listened to books by Jack Rosewood before, how does this one compare?

I hadn't so I had no reference point.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes but I found the narrators accent odd and distracting. Like he has a thick somewhere accent but was trying to be neutral while reading. When little things would slip in I'd find my mind wander from the story and think "Oh, he's from Boston" and then ten minutes later say "Oh no, he's from Alabama." I'd never encountered that from a narrator before.

Could you see True Crime Stories Volume 4 being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

There are entire tv channels devoted to just this topic.

    Any additional comments?

I received this book for free in exchange for an impartial review. I don't think I would have kept this book had I purchased it but if I came across it in a library or something it would be worth a listen.

    "good stories"

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. I liked this book. It was nice because there were crime stories that I had actually remembered hearing about in the news. Especially the Amanda knox case. It was nice that the author included current and up to date information about the cases he was sharing. Narrator did a good job. Easy to listen to.

    "Equal quality to volumes 1-3"

Upon receiving the audio version of this book through LibraryThing's member giveaway, I was pleased that this volume meets the same level of solid narration and easy listening. As with the previous three volumes there is an interesting introduction which gives the listener or reader a framework to understand the social situation of the victim and the historical context. This volume includes the Chandra Levy and Amanda Knox cases, and when each was introduced I honestly thought I was fed up with hearing about them. I ended up impressed that new-to-me information was given and there was an impartial and succinct summary of necessary information. This leads me to believe other cases I have had no prior knowledge of are equally presented with objectiveness. I look forward to future works of Mr. Rosewood.
