Thirty-somethings Tash and her brother Jamie didn’t mean to time travel back to October 1984, but bizarrely, they did, on the very day that Bob Geldof watched the BBC news report which moved him to form Band Aid and record “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” Except their arrival caused him to miss it. So because of them, there’ll be no Band Aid, no "USA for Africa", and no "Live Aid".

Story
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Story
A weekly newspaper dedicated to the weird and the wonderful (but mostly the weird), The Stranger Times is the go-to publication for the unexplained and inexplicable. At least that's their pitch. The reality is rather less auspicious. Their editor is a drunken, foul-tempered and foul-mouthed husk of a man who thinks little of the publication he edits. His staff are a ragtag group of misfits. And as for the assistant editor...well, that job is a revolving door - and it has just revolved to reveal Hannah Willis, who's got problems of her own.

Summary
Sometimes, the strangest things can happen, right on your doorstep.
When you find out your best friend and business partner is secretly sleeping with your wife, it may be time to move on.... From your job and your marriage.... Which is precisely what happened to Jamie Newgent.
A change of lifestyle is what’s needed, and a bachelor pad on the fourth floor of a jutting tower provides a new home, a fresh start, and a new chapter in his life.
Little does he know of the weird and wonderful journey he’s about to take, or the effects a temporal rift has on the building plumbing and his troublesome toaster.
He’s living in the middle of an anomaly sandwich, with a retro woman upstairs, and a feisty hippy downstairs. But will either of them become anything more than friends?
And, If it came down to it, would he be able to make the ultimate sacrifice to save a life:
Could he go back to an era before the internet and smartphones?

Need a little time
Have had the pleasure of listening to this audiobook over a period of time.
I had a hunch of where the might be leading but this didn’t take away from the enjoyment of hearing this story told. The narrator made sure you could feel and imagine the different characters more clearly and they almost became friends of sorts.
I enjoyed this book so much I have tipped other friends about it.

Witty entertaining story loved it!
Love a story with a bit of time travel and romance thrown in. Narrator was brilliant and really good with the humour element of the story. Listened on my walks and couldn’t wait to get out to see what happened next. Light happy release from reality. Even downloaded for my partner as thought he would enjoy even though he’s not usually into time travel fantasy.

Great story - Great narration
This story immediately captured my attention and the smooth narration makes it so easy to listen too.
I believed in the characters, even though there is only one narrator, and could visualise them through the text and spoken word. I loved the story and would recommend this recording 100%
Now looking for others by the same author and by the same narrator.

Wonderful
I thoroughly enjoyed my very first Audible book ! I loved the premise ,the characters, and enjoyed Mark Rice Oxleys reading!
I’ve steered clear of audiobooks in the past, as I enjoy listening to the ‘voices’ of characters in my head ; but I’m so glad I was persuaded by a friend to try this one . Incidentally,Mr Rice Oxley has a soothing and very clear voice (and I can imagine he’d be brilliant at relaxation or meditation recordings) which painted the ‘’pictures” of the story beautifully.
And now I’m looking forward to reading or even listening to other books by Adam Eccles.
Excellent!

Loved listening to this book so much!
'Need a Little Time' is so engaging. I loved the characters and felt like I knew them so well. In between listening to chapters, I found I was still thinking about it, eager to find out what would happen next and thinking through the possibilities. It opened my mind to so many ideas about life and the universe. The narrator brought each character to life and i found myself laughing out loud often. A real delight and I highly recommend it.
