Story
When Fitzwilliam Darcy makes an impetuous offer of marriage to Miss Elizabeth Bennet, he is convinced they have as good a chance as any for a harmonious life together. That is, until an overheard conversation changes everything, and Darcy realizes he is now joined in perpetuity to a woman who loathes the very sight of him. Elizabeth Bennet's expectations for matrimonial accord were never very high, having accepted Mr. Darcy's proposal in a fit of pique, not love. Still, she is determined to make the best of her situation. But life at Pemberley is not at all what she imagined.

Story
From the author of The Darcys of Pemberley comes a new story, straight out of the world of Jane Austen and told in a style reminiscent of her six classic novels. Set in nineteenth century Hampshire and Bath, For Myself Alone is the tale of Josephine Walker, a bright, young woman whose quiet life is turned upside-down by an unexpected inheritance. With a tempting fortune of twenty thousand pounds, she's suddenly the most popular girl in town. Yet Jo longs to be valued for who she is, not for her bank balance.

Darcy: A woman as brilliant, beautiful, and witty as Elizabeth Bennet deserves a good match. One better than her silly cousin, or that irredeemable rake, Wickham, who I know to be much different from the image he presents to the world. Can I save her from committing herself to a disastrous marriage? Elizabeth: Considering he finds me merely tolerable, the unpleasant Mr. Darcy is unduly obsessed with the gentlemen who wish to court me. I cannot imagine why Darcy thinks his opinions would sway me, nor can I understand why I cannot stop thinking about the infuriating man.

It's not bad, but it's not good either....
- By Jennifer Jane on 02-05-18
Summary
What's Georgiana Darcy's story? Jane Austen tells us so little in Pride and Prejudice that we're left to wonder. How did the early loss of her parents shape Miss Darcy's character? And what about her near-disastrous affair with Mr. Wickham? Is that the true source of her shyness? She adores her brother and his new wife, Elizabeth, but will their guiding influence be enough to steer Georgiana clear of new trouble as she comes of age and falls in love again?
This work is intended as a companion of sorts to The Darcys of Pemberley (sequel to Pride and Prejudice). Both novels are unique and complete in themselves, but together they supply a richer experience than either one alone. The earlier book focused primarily on Darcy and Elizabeth's relationship during their early married life. There was a third Darcy represented in the title, however. Now she and her courtship story take center stage in Miss Georgiana Darcy of Pemberley.

Shannon Winslow all her own
I find in most reviews are full of negative remarks, But I for one love her stories. Though you can tell they are not written by someone who was born during the time In which the stories are being take place in. The stories are wonderful and entertaning.
I think when you begin to listen to the story you must aproch it with an open mind. It took me a few chapters to truly enjoy the books and now I cant wait to read the next one.

Repeat
This book is duplicative of the Darcys at Pemberley. It is told from Georgiana’s perspective. I found myself waiting to get to the parts I knew I was coming up.
It was also repetitive in that it repeated over and over Georgianna’s emotional state in the first person.

I would not recommend
I have listened to several titles by Shannon Winslow and really enjoyed them all, except this one. It is basically the exact same as The Darcy's of Pemberley: The Continuing Story of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice only told from Georgiana's perspective. It adds practically nothing new to the story and is basically all about Georgiana's romantic misery. If you haven't listened to The Darcy's of Pemberley: The Continuing Story of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, you might enjoy this tale from Georgiana's perspective, but I definitely think it is a significantly lesser piece and would not recommend buying this title, just get the first version of this story.
