This Audiobook will take you through the basics of Cantonese with Basic Bootcamp, All About, and Pronunciation lessons. The five Basic Bootcamp lessons each center on a practical, real-life conversation. At the beginning of the lesson, we'll introduce the background of the conversation. After the conversation, you'll learn carefully selected vocabulary and key grammar concepts. Next, you'll hear the conversation one time at natural native speed. Finally, practice what you have learned with the review track. In the review track, a native speaker will say a word or phrase from the dialogue. Repeat the words and phrases you hear in the review track aloud to practice pronunciation and reinforce what you have learned.
In the 15 All About lessons, you'll learn all about Cantonese and China. Our native teachers and language experts will explain everything you need to know to get started in Cantonese, including how to understand the writing system, grammar, pronunciation, cultural background, tradition, society, and more - all in a fun and educational format!
The five Pronunciation lessons take you step-by-step through the most basic skill in any language: how to pronounce words and sentences like a native speaker. You'll go from basic concepts to advanced tips and will soon sound like you've been speaking Cantonese your entire life.

not really about learning
was not like alot of different language books but not the worst just not what I was looking for at the moment
Pretty useful and easy to use, but some oddities
If you could sum up Learn Cantonese - Level 1: Introduction to Cantonese - Volume 1: Lessons 1-25 in three words, what would they be?
Helpful, but unfinished?
What did you like best about this story?
The tones section was very helpful as this is usually overlooked by other courses.
Did the narrator do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes, the narration was good.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Any additional comments?
There were some strange issues with this audio course. One common issue was that they kept repeating themselves, but each time a little differently. It sounded like they recorded things twice for the editors, but forgot to remove the double ups? Also, there were two almost identical tones lessons... but again they were slightly different. Really strange!

So much fun
What made the experience of listening to Learn Cantonese - Level 1: Introduction to Cantonese - Volume 1: Lessons 1-25 the most enjoyable?
The whole thing is like having lunch with friends. It's way better than the usual language course. It actually lacks the huge vocabulary that the others tend to have, but they give you the tools you need to find your own vocabulary. They have a website that has lots of stuff that supplements the book. Another wierd and good thing is that each chapter pretty much stands on it's own, sort of podcast style. But you can tell it's carefully planned and somewhat scripted. Like a podcast, you can jump around and it all still makes sense. Although don't skip the chapter on tones. Some of the chapters are about food, Hong Kong culture and history, and all of it is fun,
