About this listen

Harry Beecham dreamed of becoming Britain’s Prime Minister—until that dream became a nightmare. Faced with a crumbling economy and civil unrest, Harry’s toughest challenges turn catastrophic when a massive truck bomb obliterates Downing Street.

Narrowly escaping death, Harry retreats to a Whitehall bunker, where he learns the terrible truth – the UK has been invaded by a powerful Islamic army. Now, Harry and his elite SAS team must navigate the carnage to survive. But escaping the city is only the beginning.

To save his nation, Harry must rise above impossible odds and prove he has what it takes to lead—or watch everything crumble. The nation is on the brink. Can Harry Beecham save his country—and himself?

Great idea and an interesting premise but the author focuses on the dull minutiae rather than follow the action.

I can’t carry on listening to the next books as I feel they will miss the fun.

Many years ago I read the Mars books by Ben Bova, they did the same thing and this book reminded me of that mundanity focus instead of following the interesting parts.

Exciting premise with a focus on the inane
