About this listen

From guns and explosions to sharks and spiders, from surgical procedures to combat and sword-play, from rioting to dancing girls, Nathan Mullins has stories to tell about the potentially life threatening situations he’s experienced across the world. He is an ex-cop, ex-soldier, ex-security consultant and an Australian Aid International volunteer who has been lucky to survive some assignments and hijinks. Here he shares a few cautionary tales so everyone else can learn from his near misses.©2009 Nathan Mullins (P)2011 Bolinda Publishing Military & War War

I thought this book was great! I even bought it and sent it to my dad for his birthday after I loved it so much! It's not gruesome but if you like war stories it's awesome!

A great listen

Would you consider the audio edition of How to Amputate a Leg and Other Ways to Stay Out of Trouble to be better than the print version?

I don't know I have not read the print version. I have actually now bought the print version for my daughters boyfriend as I think he'll enjoy it .

What did you like best about this story?

Very funny book , dry humour brilliantly read by David Treddinick, brought all the intonations to life.

Which character – as performed by David Treddinick – was your favourite?

Lead character which I presume is the author.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were several poignant sections especially when he was in the police, but the one I will mention is when he and his colleague returned with the grandfather ensuirng that the boys leg was not amputated.

Any additional comments?

Wasn't sure what to expect when I purchased this book. I found it entertaining and very funny in some places. The book clicked with my sense of humour.
