Summary

When renowned novelist Ally Swift goes to help a friend out of a jam, she finds herself thrust into a world she previously thought only existed in the paranormal books she wrote.

A world of vampires, magic, and mind-blowing sex that she could never have dreamed was possible.

Caught between five powerful vampires, she is trapped between the strength of their hands, the fire in their touch, and the ache in her skin for the thrust of their teeth.

She is the key to their survival, and for the four she denies, their lives will be forfeit.

Can she find a way to save them all, and place her heart in the hands of the one whose soul resonates with her own, and still finish that damn book she's got a deadline for?

Contains mature themes.

WARNING of series. Listened to all of them...

Every single one of these books ends abruptly, then when you feel like something more is going to happen, the author slams the door in your face with a cliff drop ending. Door slammed right in your face type of ending. I wound up listening to the whole series of these books. I felt the narration was the only good thing to say about any of it once all books were over. I kept hoping that once I got to the last book that, all of the drop off endings would be tied up nicely, and it would have all been worth it. This is certainly not the case. Once you listen to this book, and if you are unhappy with how it ends, as if you are left waiting for more, wanting for more, don't expect to find better in the series. my advice would be to not waste your time. I do not normally go back to the first book, and write out reviews for books.... Seriously.... like NEVER. This is how strongly I feel the author of this series is a joke. There are so many books series that don't finish on audible, only to get crappy material like this to make it all the way through. Unfortunately, I've noticed more and more of this. The stories in these books are sub-par at best, and I feel as if that is an EXTREMELY generous statement. Good luck, and happy listening...to something better than this, as I know there are much better reverse harem books out there. This book has talent in these books, as I said before, I wouldn't waste my time. It feels like a weak joke from someone who took a shot at writing, with a "I don't feel like finishing these books," sort of attitude. Happy listening Audible fans, just not with this series.

Really Bad!!

This book is a how to NOT do Reverse Harem. Everything was wrong. Too much to list. Don't waste your credit. First off, the herione had sex with her vampire captive the first day she was taken after being around him for 10 minutes,OMG. Not to mention, she was doing this while not caring about her best friend who was injured. Then, she just believed every far fetched fairytale they told her immediately. No push back whatsoever. She was unbelievably stupid. She releases a captive beast without knowing if she was safe or why he was jailed. The author just didn't do a good job.

I enjoyed Book 1 of Emma Dawn’s RH series

It has been awhile since I read this book but Aletha George did a good job making the characters come to life and got me into the story right away . I think Ally was great (loved her author brain haha) and most of her guys were fantastic and would love them on my book BF list. I think we didnt get to see a lot of action scenes and it would have been awesome to get more time with Ally and her guys at the end. I know these standalone books in the series connect, I just wanted to get more time with the guys with her, since they only got 1 time with her and sometimes it felt rushed. Thats really why I couldn’t give the story 5 stars. I think the story was good but had a lot of potential to be amazing. For the narration, I think Aletha also did a good job. I loved how quirky she made Ally and her depiction of her was spot on how she was in my head. The only reason I couldn’t give her 5 stars is because she changed some of the guys accents like 60% of the way through. Wick had a different voice, some of the others randomly had the Irish accent when they shouldn’t have. Besides that, she did a great job with emanating the essence of the story and with each of the guys personalities. Overall 4 stars, good job! Already listening to book 2 on audible escape ❤️

DNF - lacks character development or strong story

Couldn't finish it... I WANTED to like it because all of the books are available in Escape for free but I couldn't get past the EXTREMELY unrealistic reactions of the female main character and superficial character development. I know some reviews said to keep going, it gets better but it didn't to me.

Solid vampire RH

This is a solid 4 star vampire RH. I liked and disliked the main female character. I really can’t put my finger on it exactly but her blasé attitude about sex just didn’t feel real. I don’t know maybe it’s just me🤷‍♀️ Otherwise there is plenty of steam and very likable male characters. I’d like to know what happens to malcom? Maybe he will show up in one of the next books? Also the main female character is older like in her late 30s older so what about children? Can vampires even have children??

Great Book

There are a lot of negative reviews, but I would like to give a positive one. There is A LOT of sexy time and it is fantastic! You have a women that was scorned and didn’t know her place in the world except in fantasies aka her books. She has a snarky wit about her and a determination that is hard to find at times. This was actually a great book and a wonderful story of a strong woman. FYI the narrator did a fabulous job as well. You knew who was speaking at all times.

Could have been better

It was a good read, but it felt like it wasn't enough, it felt rushed. No proper character development and believe me the author could have done way better. otherwise it was decent, I won't read the series if its like this first book

Sexy Fangs

Ally Swift finds herself in the world of vampires and being forced to choose between 5 different men's lives. Caught in a world she given only half truths, she fights to right the wrongs of this vampire world. If Ally doesn't succeed, it won't only be her life on the line, but also her sexy men. Definitely not the book I was expecting, and was pleasantly surprised. Emma Dawn got creative in this paranormal world and yet kept us in suspense while delivering a HEA. Aletha George does a fantastic job giving all the characters pitch and personality.
