What a great book & narration.

In "Green Card", Elizabeth Adams has pulled off a masterful modern variation. She has balanced the essence of the original with modern life perfectly. The characters are recognisable but relatable and the plot flows steadily forward. One little feature I really liked was the length of time married noted at the beginning of each chapter. It kept the purpose of the marriage firmly in the reader's mind throughout.

There is a well thought out reflection on the impact the respective parents have had on their children which is surprisingly moving, especially the conversation between Elizabeth and her mother.

The audio narration by Elizabeth Grace was masterful - dream team indeed!

This gentle and detailed book describes beautifully two people getting to know each other, effortlessly falling in love before they even knew how or when. The audible reading just adds to the melodic ebb and flow of the narrative with effortless renditions of British and American accents. Do not be deterred by the length of the book - it is the very detail that is part of the allure of this story. Nothing is rushed, nothing is jumped over with undue haste but nor does it drag or ever feel indulgent. If you buy this book, you have a treat in store for you - do not waste it on noisy backgrounds or where you are being constantly interrupted - take yourself away and be lulled by the beautiful narration of a story that you will never want to end.

Just Perfect

This is one of the best modern versions of Pride and Prejudice I've read. The narrator does a great job with both British and US accents (to my British ear, anyway).
The William character undergoes a believable development. If I have one criticism, the Lizzy character is too perfect - she doesn't need to develop as she's perfect already. She's pretty, she sings, she's clever, people love her, her talents are endless. So she doesn't really have any flaws to work on.

Great modern variation with impeccable narration

Essentially an adult 'Mills and Boon" type story that's a cross between Pretty Woman, Pride & Prejudice and the Green Card movies.
The storyline is predictable and the style of writing, often too literal, but I really enjoyed the narrator's voice(s) - especially Liz and Will's accents. Bravo Elizabeth Grace!!
