About this listen

A ruthless young assassin continues her journey for revenge in this new epic fantasy from New York Times bestselling author Jay Kristoff.

WINNER OF THE THE AUREALIS AWARD FOR BEST FANTASY NOVEL

Conquer your fear, conquer the world.

Mia Corvere, destroyer of empires, has found her place among the Blades of Our Lady of Blessed Murder, but many in the Red Church ministry do not believe she has earned it.

Her position is precarious, and she's still no closer to exacting revenge for the brutal death of her family. But after a deadly confrontation with an old enemy, Mia begins to suspect the motives of the Red Church itself.

When it is announced that Consul Scaeva and Cardinal Duomo will be making a rare public appearance at the conclusion of the grand games in Godsgrave, Mia defies the Church and sells herself into slavery for a chance to fulfill the promise she made on the day she lost everything.

Upon the sands of the arena, Mia finds new allies, bitter rivals, and more questions about her strange affinity for the shadows. But as conspiracies unfold, secrets are revealed and the body count rises within the collegium walls, Mia will be forced to choose between her loyalties and her revenge.

By the Lady of Blessed Murder that was one heck of a thrill ride! Nevernight was just a hair's breadth from being 5 star read for me even though I loved it. Godsgrave however was a definite 5 star read. Darker, grittier and featuring more unpredictable twists and turns that will leave you more emotionally drained than the first book. The narration was great and easy to follow. I am now simultaneously aching for and dreading the conclusion of this trilogy.

Maw's Teeth, Biss and Blood that was bloody Epic. Damn I need to catch my breath here after that ending, Godsgrave just blew me away with its action packed, fast paced bloody dripping awesomeness. Jay Kristoffs world is so good, you will be saying to yourself just one chapter and boom you only have two hours sleep before work...😴🤯 The twist and turns in this book will leave your jaw on the floor, the plot, setting and worldbuilding is just sublime. Mia Corvere is on mission to avenge those who have ripped her Familia apart when she was ten, a fully fledge assassin, a shawdow walker, she will do anything to reach that goal. Trust, betrayal and hard truths, Mia must put herself through the mill or die trying to get her vengeance. Absolutely fantastic characters, brilliant storytelling at its finest. After reading the first book Nevernight and writing a review, I should have mentioned that this might not be for everyones taste. This series comes with very detailed explicit sexual scenes and lots and lots of stabbyness. Holter Graham continues to give a brilliant narration preformence. Now for book 3 Darkdawn, I very highly recommend this series...😁💥🗡

Stabbingly Good.
