Summary

Lina's trendy bakery in Tulsa is proving to be less than lucrative, and she must come up with a plan. When she stumbles upon an Italian goddess cookbook, Lina can't help but think she's found the answer to her problem - even if it means invoking a goddess to save her business.

Soon enough Lina finds herself face-to-face with Demeter, who has a plan of her own. She proposes that Lina exchange souls with Persephone, the goddess of spring, who will breathe new life into the bakery. In return Lina must set order to the Underworld.

Before all this, Lina's problems mostly involved sourdough and second dates. Now that she embodies the enchanting Persephone, Lina has weightier things on her mind - like the formidable task of bringing spring to a world of spirits. But when the handsome, brooding Hades kindles a spark in her heart, Lina wonders if this lord of the underworld might be the man of her dreams.

Love this series

I laughed out loud and even teared up a few times with this book. I loved the first one and I definitely loved this one. It's unique and even though a happy ending seems out of reach it does come through and in the most satisfying way. Hades is wonderfully written character as is of course the heroine. It's written so well you ache when the characters do and enjoy their happiness as well.
I can't say enough about this book. The stories are wholly their own and do not run one off the other so read them however you choose.
I can't wait for the next book!

worst reader ever

I loved this book, but the nasal monotone, with unusual cadence and awkward pronunciation made me cringe and really ruined one of my favorite books

Better after the first few chapters

I almost stopped listening. I thought the first few chapters were terribly boring but I'm glad I kept listening. It turned out to be a very enjoyable book.

Uninteresting plot and annoying narrator

I can't really get into the story. The plot events are uninteresting and the narrator says each sentence like she is asking a question.

Despite the head hopping, I love it

My only complaint is the head hopping, which I started to notice on occasion. So far, of the three books I've listened to, to completion, this one's my favorite. The pacing of the relationship development is perfect, in my mind. I like the personalities of the characters, and it's a REALLY interesting retake on a classic myth. I cannot suggest this book more, as I cried a couple times out of empathy.

absolutely loved it

this second book held all the wonder, love, wit and even sorrow of the first. The narrator once again brought the characters to life. I can't wait for the next one.

While I love all of the Goddess Summoning books...

...This one is by far my favorite! From the delicious, toe-curlingly sexy scenes to the sweet romantic scenes to the heartbreaking scenes to the beautiful joy filled fun scenes, Goddess of Spring tells a wonderfully unique and beautiful tale of a classic Greek myth! It also sets the scene for some of the later Goddess Summoning stories, introducing such loveably fun characters! Goddess of Spring is an absolute must read!
