Summary

New York Times best-selling author P. C. Cast's Goddess Summoning series continues as a modern woman attempts to tame a wild beast with the power of love.

Empousai family roses have bloomed for centuries, thanks to the drops of blood their women sacrifice for their gardens. But Mikki would rather forget this family quirk and lead a normal life. Until she unwittingly performs a ritual, ending up in the strangely familiar Realm of the Rose. As its goddess Hecate reveals, Mikki is a priestess - and the Realm's been waiting for her.

Long ago, an enraged Hecate cursed her guardian beast and the entire Realm with a slumber only a priestess can undo - and she's counting on Mikki to set things right. The beast at first terrifies Mikki, but soon intrigues her more than any man ever has. Now, the only way he and the Realm can be saved is for Mikki to sacrifice her life-giving blood - and herself.

Hmmmm

Would you try another book written by P. C. Cast or narrated by Caitlin Davies?

Caitlin Davies has a very strange way of narrating this book. At times her inflections make it sound like a computer simulation is reading the book not a real live person. Maybe it's her accent, but it is very strange and noticeable and at times annoying.

I feel as if it’s being narrated by a machine

Unfortunately I can’t tell you how the actual story progresses even though I have been a fan of this author for a while... I will buy the hard copy of this book to read in the future however I am unable to stand the uncomfortable unhuman like tone of the narration a moment longer... it is as if it was being read by the ‘speaking clock’. My mistake for not listening to the ‘sample’ before buying the audio book (a mistake I will not make again). Utterly disappointed.

Love the series

This book was a wonderful listen. I loved this book as much as I had books 1 and 2 in the series. I was a little disappointed in the 3rd book but this one gave me the same emotional roller coaster I had with the first two and I loved it. Written very well and nothing is quite what you expect or how you envision it should go which to me makes it even more enjoyable. The series is unlike any other I’ve read or listened too and I would suggest it to anyone looking for a twist on a romance novel.

Great book and series.

I read many bad reviews and I feel they did not give the book justice. I too loved the beast and he was recreated in this amazing tale.

Ms Davies narration is like nails on a chalkboard!

Caitlin Davies narration was so annoying! The inflections of her speech was so off. She would put to much infusise on certain parts of a sentience that it would sound like a question or like she was surprised with every sentience. There was no easy flow to her telling of this story. It's like she was trying to hard and failed miserably. The story itself is a good book. I like this author. Just need a new narrator.

Best one since the first of the series

I've been enjoying this series, and I've enjoyed this one the most since the first one. I like that it focuses on Greek gods and myths that aren't as widely known as the 12 original Olympian gods. I like that the male lead is darker than the previous male leads of the series. I like that the female lead is emotionally stronger than some of the others.

Fun, enjoyable read with a sweet love story. A few hot moments.

Reader ruined a wonderful book.

I own this book and love it dearly. The narrator butcherd it with her odd inflection and cadence. Had this been any other book I would have junked it in annoyance after the first chapter. Skip the audio and go paper to truly enjoy what this book has to offer.
