LOVE this series!

I am really enjoying reading this powerful interpretation of our country's struggles with the war between the states! It has given a behind scenes perception of life for white and black people during that terrible time in history. Some of it is really hard to understand because of the senseless killings of the black people! I'm really enjoying the wonderful love stories mixed in with the history.

Glimmers of Change Review

What I love best about this book is learning about the history of our nation that I never knew before. Ginny makes it so real, it’s like actually experiencing it first hand.

Never disappointing

As with the 6 books before Ginny Dye continues to write with excellent and passion. Continue your journey with the characters you have fallen in love with. Be prepared to have your heart ache for our country, the USA, as you explore the restoration period. This series continues to leave me in awe and with a new love for how far we (the USA) have come and how hope lives on.

Depressing..

I didn't like the story line without an uplifting subplot. Me thinks there is an agenda here that supersedes history

What a disappointment.

Preachy speeches. Little character development. Historical events were forced and contrived into the storyline. Disappointing.

Gripping!

I continue to be amazed at how this author holds me in the grip of the ongoing series. The accounts of battles, survival, heartbreak, courage, victories, love, hope, etc...continue to command my attention.

so little has really changed

so much is still true today. ..sadly so. but that we could learn from the mistakes of the past
