Great!

If you're into conspiracy theories this is excellent! Tsoukalous at his best with all the old favourites in the book

Nice addition to the series.

Loved the book, read by many of the people who head the show. Giorgio is very good.
I would say fans of the series will love this as it does give more information than in the shows,
If I had to grumble I would say its on the short side, 5 hours 10 minutes. And the grumble is
only there's so much more they could have said. Unless book 2 follows, which would be fine with me.

AND if you have not watch the TV show, watch it, BRILLIANT.

Enjoyable

A great addition to the TV series, I'm already a fan so this was something I was always going to get. Nothing in here which isn't in the TV series but still a great summary of some of the more prominent points.

Better to watch the series

If you have never watched the Ancient Alien series, and have no intention to do so, then this might be a good listen as it skims through many of the main evidence and speculation that does indeed make a compelling argument that we need to challenge conventional wisdom in a world where archaeologists and many other scientific communities are unable to entertain alternative theories to the standard historical model for several reasons. 1. funding is rarely available unless it conforms to the standard paradigm and aligns with government interests. 2. Many fields are controlled by an elite of scientists who will protect conventional views at any cost. Not to do so jeopardises their reputation and attacks their entrenched belief systems. New findings, data, facts etc are disregarded to avoid any painful review of their 'safe little world' 3. Ambitious scientists who are willing to explore new theories and new evidence know that to do so means their careers are threatened. 4. Governments, who provide a huge proportion of research funding will focus on grants that support political strategies.

I am not convinced that 400,000 years ago extra-terrestrials populated the earth and genetically produced mankind. But I also do not believe that the unfathomable complexity of life, DNA etc sprang up from primordial soup. The very arrogant and misguided Richard Dawkins dismisses everything that does not align from his 'the selfish gene' narrow minded view. My point is that Dawkins may not be wrong, or that ancient alien theory might be wrong, but rather humans, throughout history believed they have discovered the answers to life, only for these beliefs to be discredited only decades later. Dawkins and his colleagues discount religion. The irony is that many of our scientific community are themselves religions, entrenched and protective in their beliefs, unable to consider other views for fear of betraying themselves and their followers. 95% of the cosmos is not understood. Relativity and quantum mechanics are incompatible. And yet scientists present their speculations as fact. As a human species we need to be open minded in all view points, work together and as far as possible advance science without the arrogant flaws that threaten to keep us in the dark for centuries.

This audiobook rifles through many of the good concepts that underpin the series. On the whole this is quite interesting. However, there are 12 series of Ancient Aliens that provide a much more engrossing look at this topic. Overall, we simply just don't know what all the answers are. But is is important to keep an open mind with all of these theories, and to not be intimidated by those who uses words such as pseudoscience or conspiracy theory in an attempt to discredit the true advancement of knowledge.

Ancient aliens is very listenable. From the material available it could have been a little longer. The narration is very competent if a little flat. As above, even to whet your appetite for this topic it is an excellent start
