Summary

On behalf of USA Today best-selling author Gretchen Archer, welcome aboard flight Double Up. Fasten your seat belts for non-stop action as stiff competition blows into town and the resulting turbulence threatens to take down the Bellissimo Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Super Secret Spy Davis Way Cole, who lives on the 29th floor of the hotel with her CEO husband and newborn twins, takes it hard. If the casino goes belly up, she won't be a stay-at-home mom because she won't have a home. Not to mention, her husband won't have a job.

Davis can't find a way to stop the inevitable end of the Bellissimo life she loves until her ex-mother-in-law shows up, unexpected and definitely uninvited. Davis makes the best of a bad Bea Crawford situation and recruits her for a little corporate espionage work, which would've been great, had Bea not turned out to be the world's worst spy. Ever. Seatbacks and tray tables in their upright positions as we prepare for a bumpy ride with babies, bankruptcies, besties, and shrimp. (Shrimp?) Enjoy your flight.

Absolutely Hilarious

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this is by far the funniest of all of the Davis Way Crime Capers.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bea Crawford!

Would you be willing to try another one of Amber Benson’s performances?

No

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Biloxi Blitz goes Boom

Any additional comments?

The book was awesome. The narration is bad! At times I was confused on which character dialogue. The first narrator was the best.

Not as good as the earlier books in the series

Not as good as the earlier books in the series, but still enjoyable. If you're a fan of the series I recommend this book

new narrator please!!!

I intensely dislike the narrator I don't like her delivery, her Cadence, her voices are similar and they don't match the characters. Also, her voice is extremely irritating. I really like the books but might have to go to reading because it's hard to listen to the narrator.

Cute story, hate the narration.

I really don't like the narration in this series. The twenty-something lead character sounds like she is fifty-something. The male characters are poorly done and southern accents are used to indicate a character is stupid. The narrator really ruins it for me.

Double up

If you could sum up Double Up in three words, what would they be?

exciting, never boring, funny

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes

Which scene was your favorite?

David and Fantasy trying to get into the Blitz

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Davis found out what was really going on with Fantasy.

I hope the series continues.

Can’t take the narrator for the sub characters

After I started listening to this I remembered why I quit listening to the audio on these books. The books are fun to read but I cannot take the way the narrator portrays all the secondary characters. They are so grating and obnoxious. She is a good narrator for the main voice but almost all the other characters are just awful

Baby talk

Too much baby talk. Took to long for story to take off. Her worst one in the series. At end of someone sat on her sofa, she had to keep calling it a Life Sofa...I think we got it after first time

This book is the funniest yet! It is a bit slow unfolding but thoroughly enjoyed it.

The best yet

Double Up takes listeners on a wild rollercoaster ride of intrigue, desperation, dumpster-diving, spying... and Bea, Davis's ex ex mother in law, who was a hoot and a half. She became a (semi) real person, actually likeable. As always, Amber Benson is the wonderfully fantastic voice of Davis, the voice of everything Bellisimo. Gretchen Archer, keep ' em coming. We're here, waiting for the next book. ...still waiting...

So Much Fun!

This is a continuation of the wacky Davis Way series. Simply love the laugh out loud situation and antics, very reminiscent of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum. Everyone needs an escape like this!
