Summary

Michelle knows being the first lady of Mount Zion Baptist Church is an important and much-coveted position, so she always gives thanks for a dutiful husband and a prosperous life. But she also prays for Darvin to spend more time with her, talking about something other than Mount Zion's affairs.

Michelle's faith is further put to the test when the seductive vixen Daphne Carlton arrives on the steps of their church, determined to make Michelle's life a living hell so she can get rid of Michelle and assume her role as the first lady.

With Michelle representing the reputation of her husband and church, she feels the burden to respond in a prim and proper manner; but she knows that in real life, such behavior might not be enough to defeat an enemy once and for all.

How far is the first lady willing to go in order to stop Daphne?

Awful book, story and Plot

This was the worst book ever. The plot is awful and unbelievable. The book told a story that was so stupid and right dumb. Who would just open up their life took the twin of the person who ruin their lives. with no investigation. It was a big waste of my time.

Real talk

Hello to the life of a First Lady. Although this is a work of fiction, I know that there are many people that have delusions of grandeur like Daphne. Mental health is a tricky situation. People with unrealistic expectations are not easily persuaded to back off. On the other hand, any Calling by God is a huge responsibility, not to be taken lightly. If married, both spouses need to come to grips with what lies ahead and communicate often about expectations, feelings and roles in the Ministry.

Entertaining read

The only con I have for this book is how unbelievably stupid Darvin the pastor/husband is. For someone with discernment and wisdom, he fell for every trick in the book females play, so it made the overall story unrealistic. A woman gifts you a Bentley and money, moves across the street from you, ends up across from your hotel room, impersonates your wife and looks JUST like the psychopath who almost ruined your life previously, but claims to be her identical twin???? Hmmm....i guess fiction can be unbelievable and still fun to read.

Hard to follow

I only listened because Nicole Small narrated but the story line was weak and uneventful

1lady

Although fiction there was some validity of the issues Pastors Wives deal with. It was a good book and I would recommend.

Real page turner!!

Some women are just beyond trifling! Daphne Carlton had me gritting my teeth! Michelle had the discernment that First Ladies need in order to protect their home, her only flaw was she was also insecure and didn’t walk in her authority as Pastors wife.

Pushes the patience button for me

It was a good story and all but I just felt like it was too drawn out. I got bored with the back and forth same stuff so I skipped to the last two chapters!
