This is my fifth book in this series and I am now waiting for the next in the series. Very enjoyable and always with a twist that you do not expect. Really enjoyable!

I have to point out that if you are specifically building ships to counter the squids you can do a better job with a generalized ship even if it is lower tech, as anti missile missiles and PDCs are not exactly super high tech but would increase survivability dramatically against the squids weapons, as well as an imported broadside or 2 put on each ship, yeh even with sub optimal hull wouldn't hold you back much. Yeh you might not be fighting 2 to 1, but I think better than 1:1 would be possible with a specilized ship to counter the squids with lower tech.
