Summary
Long before Earth began conquering her neighboring stars, Legion Varus was deployed on Tau Ceti. Valuable and highly illegal treasures were stolen during the campaign, but McGill never gave it a second thought.
The Tau haven’t forgotten him, however. For decades, they’ve hunted and plotted, and at last they’ve found the pirate who robbed them. Tau agents invade Earth seeking revenge and profit. Caught up in violence and intrigue, McGill is given the task of finding out where the loot has gone and who was responsible for the theft in the first place. The hunt takes Legion Varus to Ice World, a distant planet with an inhospitable climate.

McGill delivers as usual!
By now you will have listened to the other books and you know what to expect, although this time there is additional background info on key players and some new heavyweights are introduced!
This series continues to deliver, I love to listen to the incredible circumstances and calamities our hero manages to circumnavigate and how nothing is ever just black and white.
And to top it all off, it's narrated by one of the very best narrators in the game! It is a pleasure to listen to Mark Boyett.

Another Great read/Listen
I have listened to every single book up to now, and I have to say this is by means, the best series of sci fi reading. Larson and Boyett are a great outcome. The characters and brought to life with the amazing voice of Mark Boyett, with Larson keeping us laughing and stressed with the realistic character development. Would recommend this to anyone, another star from Larson. Can’t wait until the next book.

James Mcgill
Bv Larson, you sir are are a master at writing scifi. The undying series transports me into the story everytime and Ice world is no exception. Well written, deeply involving and fun. Mark Boyett as always brings the characters to life and makes the whole riveting from start to finish.
I pray there will be many more as I'm now quite depressed now I have finished ice world.

slipping a little
I have adhored this series since the start and cabt out it down on every other book. but the story on this on feels like its slipping.
mild spoiler below**
The random and weird courtmarshall by third party aliens for an act tha was clearly captured and documented.. that felt so out of place and wrong as in this shouldnt be here.
Goleena, this is like the 3rd or 4th time she would have been fine with McGill being permed with zero recourse or remorse. if he saves her life again I think I'll be done with this story because although its sci fi he would have to be actualy suicidal to keep her kicking.
the fact next to no one doesnt see him as a Goddamn galactic hero by now from the grunts to Druses and Graves is pissing me off. although he does cause mischief he has saved humanity and his regiment and command and headquarters a number of times. as well as being tacticly often brilliant.
I look forward to the next installment but humanity either better get a f*ck load more grateful or McGill just go renegade/ real merc and go work for the Clavers and kick ass with the benefits to match.

I will ALWAYS need more McGuill
....but this book was just as good as you want it to be.
It's got the old favourites, crazy plans, just a hint of lechery and a good shake of double dealing as always, plus the body count goes nowhere but up.
