Summary

Days 9 to 16 is the third title in the Mass Extinction Event series, continuing the story of a worldwide apocalypse seen from the eyes of two very different people in two different parts of the US.

Finally realising that she must leave the city, Elizabeth sets out alone along a deserted road. Eventually, however, she encounters some fellow survivors, and before long she's taken to a remote farmhouse where a small community is struggling to take shape. She soon discovers, however, that this particular farmhouse hides some dark secrets.

Meanwhile, Thomas also encounters some other survivors, although he soon finds himself trapped in a battle for survival. Captured and held prisoner in a basement, he begins to realise that he might never find a way out.

Tiresome 3rd volume from Amy Cross

I struggled with this volume as it was quite repetitive in places and Amy appears to have adapted the word "fucking" as her own. I felt she could have shown us more interesting vocabulary do describe þhe many places where the words used - don't like repetition! The book had to be read before I embark on the next volume which was gifted to me.

The voices of Catherine and Thomas began to grate as much as the repetitive storyline. No disrespect. to Andy I galls and Jessica Priddy but they were over-used ( perhaps the producers could have employed additional readers to give variety of accent, tone and believe-ability to characters.

I must applaud Amy Cross for these storyline which had me on the edge of my chair at times. Gripping developments thru Catherine's and (to a lesser extent), Thomas' eyes are real imagination of an author, so,well done here.

A relatively good series of books which I would recommend to other 'extinctionist' novel readers.
