Summary

Having been rescued from the forest, Elizabeth is shocked to find herself living with a small group of survivors. But when she's plunged into an unlikely reunion, she begins to realise that the task of saving humanity might require difficult decisions. Meanwhile, Thomas discovers the truth about another group of survivors. Old alliances are destroyed and new alliances are formed, but finally Thomas is forced to make a stand.

Days 54 to 61 is the fifth book in the Mass Extinction Event series, continuing the story of a worldwide apocalypse seen from the eyes of two very different people in two very different parts of the US.

Abrupt ending?

Listened to the whole series of books, one after another, but was gutted at the abrupt, open ending!
So many questions unanswered 😤

Average

I didn’t mind the narrators.
Thomas isn’t a bad character I was so hoping that the whole Joe body jumping thing would continue.
Elizabeth is too naive so that got really irritating especially towards the end of the last book.
Apparently everyone after the apocalypse is megalomaniac, not any of the other survivors are decent which was a bit of a shame made it a difficult read.

A must-read book for sci-fì enthusiasts.

This book surprised me in that it
was so well crafted by the author and thoughtfully put to audio-format by thoughtful produces using a small cast who brought the story to life so vividly. I would recommend this novel to fellow Sci-Fi readers and those who love a good yarn about how a -New Wold- could fare in the event of a World-Catastrophy.

Change of story

I agree with other reviews that the drop of part of the story from the previous book is weird, annoying and to bad, it was promising and interesting.
The male performer sometimes hits like t:s and p:s so hard it's annoying in the long haul and the female performer's nasalness also.
It's also a bit to sad and hard, sure it's the apocalypse but it's also hard to read bad thing after bad thing. Still an interesting series and well written.
