Summary
Humanity has finally defeated the Dark Lord, but Morrick fought on the wrong side. Though he was a slave, he is branded a traitor and must earn the trust of new lords in order to return to his family, if they are still alive.... Now that their common enemy is dead, the nobles begin to forget old loyalties, and Queen Cathryn’s realm looks set to plunge into war once more. But there are older and more terrible powers dwelling within the forest, and when they are awakened, Morrick will decide who lives or dies....

Magnificent
Brilliant story, fantasy weaved with a touch of reality. How man will wreak havoc on the earth but in a great fantasy world, narrated wonderfully by Nigel Peever. An amazing variety of different voices and atmospheric music make this a delight to listen to.

Man battles Man and the Forest
A saga of warring men and the forest fighting back when it is severely encroached. Matters of the heart and magical fantasy are explored. There is mans inhumanity to man as well his mistreatment of nature. I think the foundations for further tales has been written. The narration, characterization and soundscapes greatly enhance the listening experience.

Fantasy, drama, ecology -- a cracking listen
Loved it! Fantasy with a twist. Full of character and characters, charged with compassion and emotion, but plenty of action too. A very promising debut. I'm looking forward to the sequel with eagerness. Nigel Peever's narration draws you into what is an already fascinating concept.

Well narrated and unexpected plot
An unusual story that was initially difficult to get into but later very enjoyable. The plot twists in unexpected ways which keeps you listening. Nigel Peever's rich voice brought characters to life, even those not human.

Arthurian type fantasy
Though I really enjoyed the story with its wonderful characters and sweeping tale (especially the mystical creatures) it was the narration that blew me over. Not only does the narrator do a marvellous job of telling the story and bringing the characters to life with his vast array of accents, but the background effects make this feel like a movie. From the creaking gate, tweeting birds and rolling music in tension spots I was fully engaged. Lovely tale and very well presented.

Well worth getting.
I was given a free copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.
So I'm gonna start with the sound effects.
Some the sound effects are a little overpowering, making it hard to catch what's being said.
The sound effects in general are really good, giving a nice atmosphere to the story.
The story itself is very entertaining and full of excitement, intrigue and much more.
Thd narration is as expected flawless, Nigel delivers a winning performance.

Best audible Ever
Holy moly in bloody latern bejasus, that was even better the second time round and on audible, damn that was like being in a movie, as if you where there fighting the battles your self, the narration by Nigel Peever is truly awesome, the dramatic, epic music and the sound effects and details are out of this world, Jacob Sanox takes us to a dark and beautiful, Grim as hell, you won't want to put down, so many emotions after reading Jacob's Sannox The Dark Oak, He tells a beautiful and brutal story of Darkness that can be human nature, after a thousand years, the combined people have finally been victorious against the monsters that drove them from their homes, when they've won back their lands, human nature truly prevale its self, The Dryads of the forest have had enough, the characters, setting and plot are brilliant, this story will really pull on your heart strings, highly recommended, Now for the second and more epicness....😁🪓
