Summary
Chance Dover is a sergeant in the US Cavalry and mustered out after serving 10 years. On his way to see a friend, he happened upon an old prospector who was near death. While he tried to nurse the old-timer, he gave him the location of a cave filled with gold and then suddenly died. Chance soon learns that finding the gold cave can be a curse as he tries to make a life for himself and enjoy the benefits of his find.
