About this listen

Bastard. Killer. Husband. Father.

With his wife cold in the ground and two young boys to feed, Wil Cutter turns to what he knows: violence. But a bounty is never just a bounty, and blood is never spilled in drops. Forced to ever more violent acts, he’ll have to ask himself: Is Hell too far to ride?

Pros:
-Cowboy ASMR
-Trippy dark wild west setting
-Great prose
-Very atmospheric

Cons:
-Although the narrator is very good, when he SHOUTS the mic distorts. Minor thing but it did undercut some good moments.
-The story slips between reality and flashback and dream as it pleases and the transitions are very easy to miss if you're distracted for a couple of seconds. In text it wouldn't be a problem, but in audio I would have appreciated some sort of stronger signifier... even if it was just a long pause from the narrator.

So in summary, great book but there's a few quibbles with the audiobook version.

Great little story.
