About this listen

The electronic age has dramatically altered the terms of trade for intellectual goods. How valuable is the product you are developing - and how do you plan to generate revenue from it in the future? Paul Goldstein, Professor of Law at Stanford University, provides a comprehensible framework for current intellectual property law and the prospects for its modification in the United States and the world. He also discusses the cause and effect of intellectual property losses as well as the influence of law on product value.(P) and ©1996 Stanford Alumni Association Career Success Employment Career Law

Editor reviews

Virtually anything published in print or audio can be illegally placed on the Internet. If your business involves the creation, distribution, or sale of copyrighted material, you need to hear this program to learn how to protect your assets. Furthermore, if your business has a Web site, you'll need to make sure that it isn't violating the law with the material it displays. The larger issue here: protection of copyrights ensures that you and I have access to authors' works as they intended, rather than through outlets of misinformation and misrepresentation that have increasingly plagued the growth of the Internet. Fuzzy audio. Seems to be from around the mid 90's. Before copyright was extended in the US to 95 years, so I'm guessing the audio is earlier than the 1999 given as the publishing date.

In saying that it is very well presented. Very informative. Still much of relevance for today.

His comments about the internet and how it would be a relic within 5 years from then was amusing. Interesting to see how things have actually developed since that time in consideration of his comments.

I can highly recommend this audio lecture.
