Summary

Every hundred years, tradition dictates that all eligible females in Sweetwater assemble for the choosing ceremony. Two vampire kings have separate territories within the surrounding countryside. Both are eager to pick their future brides. What a waste of her freaking time. Tanya is among the many women at the choosing ceremony. As far as she's concerned it's an outdated, sexist event and if it wasn't mandatory she so wouldn't be here. It's not important that the two males are ridiculously rich and handsome. Deep down she knows a plain Jane like her will never be picked by one of the kings anyway. Many of the women in the town square are stunningly beautiful and model thin. Most seem enthusiastic about being a queen even if it means being mated to a blood sucker, which suits her just fine.

Imagine her surprise though when King Brant sets his sights firmly on her. Once a vampire king has decided, there's no going back. But her home is in Sweetwater. Being forced to live among the vampire species... big gulp... forced to mate with a vampire... is not what she had in mind for herself. Maybe she can convince him to let her go, to pick again. If not, she'll have to find a way to escape his - very muscled and rather delicious - clutches. Contains mature themes.

loved the book but needed to be longer

really enjoyed the book . the story line wasn't overly complicated but kept you wanting more . however I don't think 9 hours of audio for 1 credit is a good price

Pretty Good, Loved the Narrator

I've read the story on kindle and when I found it on audible, i was very excited, I enjoyed it and the narrator is amazing at doing all the different voices, especially the male, deep baritones.

Reader was Wooden

I was a disappointment with the book and the narration. I found the reader to be a bit robotic.

not sure

Tanya is weak willed for all her bravado. doesnt want to mate a vampire king because she has a life she likes. cant control herself around brant, jealous over him after knowing him for a few hours. selfish, weak, boring that sums her up so far and I'm only on chapter 3

We all know why you came...wink wink

Sure, it's not the best story ever but it got the job done. The narrator was great for the most part. It was only in some battle scenes that I noticed what others were saying about robot voice. So stop now if you don't want spoilers because I want to talk about my opinion. Realistically this is unreal. Not just because there were vampires but because of the relationship. It's unfair to ask two guys to be with you and expect them to only want you. Seems selfish. She also tried to come across as I'm not that sort of girl but as soon as it came to the sex scenes I'm like hohoho. I do kind of wish she would have picked one. Preferably Zane. but I guess this book was just written for the vampire sandwich and not really the story or characters so yeah...if you want to read a vampire sex fantasy you're in luck

Ugh pass

So the main character is selfish and an asshole. She demands loyalty but forgets that she want two at the same time, gross. Also it’s to not really romantic, it’s just lusty. If you just want a book with graphic depictions of sexual situations this is the book for you, but if you are interested in a book that is romantic, one that you could connect to emotionally it’s ain’t it.

Love this written series

I have read every book of this series and listened to a couple others, was happy when this came out on audio. However the narrator is not as good as the two who voice the other books. Very disappointing. The voice was uneven and at times lacking inflection. The voice was distracting and didn’t do the book justice.

Hot

The sex was hot and at times the characters were funny but after awhile the story started to drag and the readers voice became annoying while reading the lead females voice, sounds like a whining, on the verge of crying at times laughing insecure girl.

Hot hot hot

Dirty and interesting. Different twist on the supernatural. I have listened to this over and over and over. Her other books are great too and all the species intertwine for crossover stories.

A trashy romance novel read by a sassy robot

Seriously half the time I was trying to figure out if it was a real person reading this or if they just loaded the book into some computer program. the narrator only had emotion in her voice when she did the voice of Tanya or the vampire kings. It's incredibly noticeable when she does other female vampires. Which would have been over looked if her voice wasn't so mechanical when giving exposition.

Books like this are the reason there's a stigma with reading romance novels. I of course use that term very loosely with this book. You tell some one you like reading romance novels and they think "Oh, you like to read porn?" This book supports those thoughts. Tanya started out so strong willed then ended up a crying mess half way into the book. I am probably not even going to finish listening. Also the word pu**y (Don't know if it's okay to put that word in a review) should not sound like it has an o in it. I inwardly cringed every time it was said.
