Summary

The astonishing true story of Wilkerson's outreach to New York teens trapped by drugs and gangs.

Gang-fighters! Drug addicts. Teenage runaways and prostitutes! The toughest and most hopeless kids that New York's ghettos had to offer. Then a young preacher from the Pennsylvania hills arrived on their turf and began preaching a message of renewal, miracles, and God's love. This is one of the century's great true stories. Over 14 million copies in print!

Timeless and challenging

I'd always heard about this story and loved Rev Wilkerson's preaching but never actually read it or saw the movie. This audiobook really brings it to life. It's so honest and raw as well as immersive and something of his faith is contagious to the listener. Expect God to reveal Himself to you in this.

Great book, 70s era, but still as relevant today!

Loved it, very relevant and interesting, to both the Christian and non Christian alike. Thanks to David, can't wait to speak to you on the other side. A worthwhile life following the Lord and Holy Spirit with trust and valour!!

Great story about the Holy Spirit

I had heard David Wilkerson by name but never read his book until 2022. What a wonderful book and testimony about what God can do when you rely on Him. A great read/listen.

Better than I remember it

I first read this book well over 40 years ago! It was great to pick it up again, I listened to it one day. It made me revisit why and how God impacts me today

Hope & Inspiration

This book gives hope to a dying world even more so now than in the late 1950’s, our youth are faced with drugs, porn, & world turned on its head in relation to gender identity & sexuality. Wrong is right & right is wrong, the murder of innocent children in the womb is normalised & a good thing to do, I grieve for the youth who have no guidance, no moral compass. The zeitgeist of this generation demands self first at all times. Our children are subjected to filth on television enforced & endorsed by a media that is destroying their moral fibre at a frightening pace. The only answer for this, the one & only hope Jesus Christ & the Holy Spirit, without him there is not.

Great book

Great story. Well written and told. Learnt a lot about walking by faith not by sight. A must read for believers of Christ or those seeking to know Him.
