Ende der 70er Jahre flog er wöchentlich bis zu 1,5 Tonnen Kokain in die USA - über Mena, Arkansas. Als Seal dabei "versehentlich" verhaftet wurde, kam er dank eines Freibriefs des jungen Oberstaatsanwalts von Arkansas und späteren US-Präsidenten, Bill Clinton, prompt aus der Untersuchungshaft wieder frei. Als Seal sich entschließt auszupacken, wird er wenig später von einem Killerkommando auf der Straße ermordet.

Dieses Hörbuch führt durch in die Abgründe der geheimen Geschichte Amerikas - die tiefe Verbindung von Politik und dem organisierten Verbrechen. Diese Geschichte ist auch bekannt als "Iran-Contra-Skandal".

Der Kinofilm startet im September 2017 mit Tom Cruise als Barry Seal in der Hauptrolle.
