The book is tense and fast-paced, largely thanks to the creeping contrast between ordinary teenage life and dark, brutal magic.
A perfect, slightly eerie page-turner that effectively proves the most dangerous thing that can happen is actually getting exactly what you wished for.
One negative that I can say is that the volume spikes sometimes, so be careful with your ears people.
