Summary
A new world. A thousand threats. Welcome to The Continent.
Felix's life on Earth had become a series of dead-end jobs, ruined relationships, and rotating apartments smaller than most postage stamps. By all accounts, even his own, he was a coward. Too afraid to move forward, to take risks. Yet when given the chance to choose between risking his life or walking away from a deadly encounter, he didn't hesitate.
Moments before his untimely demise, Felix was snatched from earth and thrust into a magical world known only as "The Continent". Empowered by the "System", he learns that he can strengthen himself through combat and dedication. To survive, he'll have to push himself beyond his limits, or else fall to the monsters all around him.
Levels, stats, and magic. Death is the start of a terrible fate, but if he lives...no one knows what he will become.

Pretty solid story
A little repetitive, but overall enjoyable. I found the performance really good, but a times monotonous.

good book
Very much enjoyed this story. my only criticism is the same as most these RPG book, the stat readouts. When reading you can skip it but it can be a hassle in audio format. There was a book i came across that had the stat readouts at the end of a chapter so it can easily be skipped and it worked well.

It’s such a good series
Honestly, one of the best fantasy & progression fantasy series out there. Such an interesting read and the progression of the characters is excellent. I’ve just finished the 9th book and I cannot wait for the next. Thoroughly recommend.

Really Good book
But far too many status screens. Again, it was a really good book. However, I felt that way too much time was spent listening to level ups, skill/spell descriptions, and full status screens. so let this be a warning to those thinking about getting this book.

Slightly forced narrative but still a decent.
The story felt slightly railroaded with little to no diversions or sidetracking because of the mc's interests or intrigue.
Meaning that there was no need for Felix to go off and research or figure something out as the skills and tools felt almost thrown at him with the slightest try and was soon pretty much proficient. No going off and getting fixated on something just because Felix wanted it, everything had a purpose and had to help towards survival.
The story felt short, even though it was 22h+ if memory serves.
There was also a situation which felt super forced towards the end. It didn't make sense why it had to be that way so it felt like the author just needed a heartstring plucking moment (which, like mentioned felt forced for "plot")
The narrator's performance carried the story as I had already abandoned the book early on because of how fast he was gaining skills without effort. Probably hadn't finished without the solid performance of Travis Baldree.
All in all, mid purchase, not bad enough for a refund but I don't think I'll buy the other books unless gifted or have absolutely nothing else to read.

Brilliant Listen
My second foray into LitRpg, I was not disappointed, compelling MC, a story that begs to be explored and brilliant supporting characters, the performance was brilliant and I cannot thank the author enough for cementing my new love of this genre.

Sat for too long in my wish list.
Great book and I really enjoyed it. Just a shame it was sat in my Wish List for so long, moving straight onto the next book, pit didn't sound like I imagined such things would LOL.
