Forrest and Rick have a beautiful rapport. This book distills some of their clearest and most heartfelt wisdom. Also their podcast offers so much value—I had to buy the book. It’s wonderfully soothing listening to Rick’s voice right before bed. Wholesome listening.

Dr Rick Hanson is so clever in the way he goes through each chapter and leaves us with a greater understanding about our feelings and our lives.

This is a nice enough book and I might listen to it again. However I didn’t take away that much of practical use beyond ‘savouring’ positive experiences. The majority of the book is based on a mindfulness approach which isn’t exactly new.

Listening to Resilient by Rick Hanson on audible. He talks about every human being having three basic needs such as safety, satisfaction and connection that are grounded in our ancient evolutionary history.
