Ian’s story has been my most anticipated and it did not disappoint. The sarcasm was epic and Ian’s internal monologue was hilarious. The majority of this one focused on Charlotte gaining trust back, but once things get going, both on the romance and plot sides, they heat up and get intense with a quickness. The ending plays out like an action movie and I was loving every bit of it!
I cannot get over the skill Ryan West exhibits narrating this series. There are so many characters interacting with each other and I never once confused one for another. Solo narration at its best! He has done a phenomenal job and I can’t wait to continue this series on audio.

It is Ian Taggart's story and his wife who he thought was dead,she has been gone for 5 years and he had seen her body..But no Charlotte is ALIVE !!
5 Years ago Charlotte had fell in love with Ian when he was on a mission to find a terrorist,but she was not who Ian thought she was when she working with his enemy Eli Nelson.
But she fakes her death to save him but in those 5 years she has been keeping track of him,trying to judge the right time to reveal herself.
Now Charlotte is in danger various people want her dead,her Russian uncle and Nelson,she needs Ian and his agency to keep her safe.
Ian though can't forgive her betrayal,he had mourned her for 5 years and now he was angry,he is not ready to forgive her.
But keeps her close because she has intel on Eli Nelson.
Having her near him the attraction is still there between them and she is more than eager to please him..So a sub/Dom relationship begins between them.
But being in Ian's world she is putting them all in danger and the best thing for them all would be if her uncle would take her and kill her...Because she couldn't live knowing that Ian would never be able to trust her again.
Ian is still as stoic,grumpy and possessive as ever..He hates not being in control but his walls begin to crumble having Charlotte in his life again..The only instinct he had was to keep her safe and to be her Dominant.
We also meet Charlotte's sister Chelsea in this book ,who is also involved.
This is a very hard story to explain and I think it would be helpful if the other books are read first,that way you can understand the bigger picture..Because there is an ongoing plot about Eli Nelson who they can't seem to catch...Will they eventually capture him ? Finally putting an end to the threat he posed to them.
In Lexi Blake style she has written some unbelieveable moments in this book and a Thrilling action packed sexy ride.
Once again Ryan West Narrates this story,I cannot imagine anyone else telling this story.He is superb at portraying each character each with their own voices and dialects.Its amazing !! Ryan always keeps me so captivated and I enjoy listening to him.
This is another wonderful story written by Lexi Blake and there is more to come from Mckay and Taggart.
I loved it.
