About this listen

When two worlds collide…

Jack Walker and Michael Talbot come from two worlds; the same, yet different. They both find themselves transported into an alien one, where things aren’t as they seem. While it appears similar to the ones they come from, there are some terrifying differences. Is it a dream? Or has reality been somehow warped?

Jack comes from a world filled with nocturnal creatures that were once human, but now seek to destroy the last vestiges of humanity. Mike, living under a constant threat from hordes of the undead, arrives with a companion, John the Tripper. Ripped away from their family members and thrown into the unknown, they find that the nightmares from their worlds have preceded them. Survival becomes moment to moment as they encounter old dangers, and new.

Each wants nothing more than to be reunited with their loved ones. With dangers lurking around every corner, they seek to unravel the mystery that brought them. It may be a long road ahead, but they begin by taking the first step, hoping the next one will be the one that takes them home.

What made the experience of listening to Whistlers the most enjoyable?

The fantastic writing and gripping storyline. An amazing addition to the Talbot multiverse.

What other book might you compare Whistlers to, and why?

I don't think there is another book that can compare. It's brilliant and unique. The two styles of writing compliment each other so well.

Which character – as performed by Sean Runnette – was your favourite?

Trip, of course. Had me laughing out loud and getting some funny looks from people as I went about my daily life listening to it.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed at the exchanges between the characters. And bit away all of my nails at the terrifying situations in-between!

Any additional comments?

Intriguing, frightening and hillarious. Tufo just keeps delivering with every book and new reality. i hope he NEVER stops writing.
I also enjoyed John O'Brien and will be adding his works to my wish list.

A Fantastic New World

Having previously read this, it was quite the experience to listen to it, Sean Runette does a great hippie Trip voice which imparted a great realism into the story. Now onto the rest of the series.

A real trip

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Shrouded World - Whistlers?

Tripp food baby uugghhh.....

Have you listened to any of Sean Runnette’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This is as good as others, he caries the story well

Any additional comments?

I love Mark Tufo books but never got John O'Brien books due to terrible narration but i am told they have been re-recorded now so will give them a go now.
Was not sure the book would make sence as i never know Jack's character but it was pretty simple to work out what he was about and what he brought to the book so that fear was put to bed. Overall i enjoyed this book very much. Having two main characters working together also works with the way it is written no match rubbish just two Alphas working together to survive and Tripp there to aid the humour :)
For me 5 star all the way, the more the book was going on the more i was into it. Done all Mark Tufo books at this stage so off to download some of John's
