Just Scratches the Surface!
If you know absolutely nothing about AI and the ways it has recently been employed and tested then this could well be a decent way to pique your interest in what has to be one of the most fascinating technologies of our times. I, personally, know very, very little about AI but this series didn't take me any further or point me in any new directions.
It is an amazing concept to me, computers capable of making decisions that the humans that work with them have no way of explaining, it's real sci-fi stuff.
This series though didn't get me any further, I didn't have high hopes given its brevity but I had hoped for a little more. I was also a bit disappointed in some of the production values with some of the audio used being of poor quality and some of the speakers weren't the best.
So, I would recommend it if you literally have no knowledge whatsoever of AI and its uses but otherwise, you're unlikely to get much out of this one.

Average Summary
Average Summary of the current AI state, rushed through many aspects and never really gripping the substance of the issues. Well read though

annoying incidental music
interesting topic, but listening on headphones the occasional tinkly music while people are talking made this too annoying to listen to, for me at least, though others may not notice or mind. Please Audible, keep the jingles between the narrator's, don't add occasional pointless music while they are talking.

very poor adaptation to audio
it was like listening to a video, too superficial approach without much value about AI

Very Interesting. Quite scary.
Interesting look at different areas that are being improved by the use of AI. Also shows the risks of using it and how its not always what its cracked up to be.

Vague - incorrect information
Apps can easily test dietary balances, make reccomendations, customise and provide menus connected to shopping lists. AI may reduce required hours of work. That reduces income. You own less. Other jobs have already disappeared. We need fewer retail outlets and fewer service advisors. Machines aid health.

why is it so important to develop AI?
No clear definition of what AI is and is not. No-one seemed to ask why AI is being developed to do the things it is being asked to do, and to become more human in the process. Why it should write music, create films or other video content, or write articles. My sense is that a lot of this is being done because we can, not that there is a real reason to, a need to be met, or a problem to be solved.
It often came across as a solution looking for a problem. We have excellent human composers, journalists, drivers, film and video makers, etc. Why do we want to create intelligence to do what we can already do so well and is a creative expreasion of what it is to be human? We already do not understand a lot of what AI does or how it does it. We will not ultimately be able to control it. When AI achieves human equivalence it will be game over for us. What is the point of humans if we want machines to run our lives and do everything for us, even to the point of making love and procreation? It seems to suggest that a physical human/AI connection would be a positive one, but doesn't stop to ask what we would lose by so doing.
Human intellect and capability is already atrophying through lack of use, and looks set to decline further. And we seem to be sowing the seeds of our own destruction, allegedly in the name of progress. This is what I hoped it would explore - why this would be progress.
I was hoping this would be a more investigative piece of work, but sadly not enough for me.

Surprising Extent AI is Being Used
This was an interesting look at AI in several fields including journalism, healthcare, banking, art and music. The extent to which AI is being used may surprise you. Journalist White interviews experts in several fields to discuss implications and more. A thought provoking listen.

Fantastic Series!
Interestingly, I used the voice dictation on my iPhone to generate the title and it originally put “Fantastic Siri’s” and then resisted my efforts to change it.
This was an excellent series created and narrated by the author which I enjoyed hearing. It was very informational and riveting in the extreme. And, I suppose it must be said, a bit frightening.

A radio program converted to a podcast
It’s an ok experience; I would just not pay for it again. It’s like the white noise radio program that is on in the background while you are doing other things...or at the doctor’s office. Content is shallow.
There’s plenty of fake news presented as fact while criticizing fake news. That’s an annoyance. The biggest challenge was some of the episodes were difficult to listen to-in particular if it was broadcasting through a Bluetooth speaker...better production required.
Overall, if it were just in the radio, I guess it would be ok.
