About this listen

A Warhammer 40,000 Novel

Angron is roused to war once again, unleashed upon a weakened and vulnerable galaxy. Can it withstand his boundless rage?

Listen to it because:

David Guymer brings Angron back into the 41st Millennium with a furious roar, as he calls his scattered Legion back to his side and embarks on an epic conquest.

The story:

In the darkness of Imperium Nihilus, across half a million worlds cut off from the dim light of Holy Terra, a beacon is lit. The Red Angel returns to an unsteady galaxy and his scattered sons heed the call to slaughter. Aboard the World Eaters’ flagship, Kossolax the Foresworn, self-appointed lord regent of the XII, fights to keep the old dreams of the Legion alive, but finds the return of his hated father both an opportunity and a threat to the warriors’ fragile unity.

Marooned on a worthless moon with a rag-tag band of traitors as despicable as himself, Ortan Leidis of the Angels of the Grail dares to dream of something greater.

Half a galaxy away, Graucis Telomane of the Grey Knights has been readying himself for this day, and plans six centuries in the making are finally set in motion – plans that will see the eradication of the Emperor’s greatest mistake once and for all...

Fantastic narration throughout and it was nice to hear special effects, such as vox interference, throughout.

However for a book about Angron, it’s no exaggeration to say he is hardly in this book.

Instead it’s a mediocre story about world eaters and grey knights. Grey knights being the more interesting of the two.

It’s a shame that there is ZERO explanation as to why Angron has returned and where he is going in the story.

4/10 for me

Where is Angron?

it's always hard to portray the world eaters. this one missed it for me. Well Narrated by Andrew wincott, but the plot line doesn't really flesh out the legion in the modern 40k universe as much as I hoped it would.

Well narrated- underwhelming storyline

Another stellar performance from Andrew Wincott. Have you ever wanted to hear what the nails do to your eloquence? Here's your chance.

It's not an audio drama, audio book with some sfx and creative mixing. Apparently fans of the Eaters hate this because it's somewhat comical about the legion. I don't know how you can take them seriously in the first place. Also some digs towards the boys from Titan.

Storywise it's not the greatest book but Wincott reading it makes it worth the credit/money/time spent. You (should) know him from the Night Lords trilogy by ADB and the Huron Blackheart book by Mike Brooks.

Wincott at his best (again)

Great

Last act not as interesting as start and middle but excellent voice acting, really captures the grim tone of the narrative as well as reminding me of the voice over in the animated transformers the movie for nostalgia bonus.
