Sarah Kauffman sought permission from her church elders to paint murals on a few of the Amish community's barns. Each was designed like an old-fashioned quilt square, representing a piece of the Amish traditions Sarah loved. The works of art were intended to draw more tourists to the Home Valley in the struggling economy. But instead, they invited a menace. One by one, each barn is set ablaze and destroyed.…The arson fires spread fear through the community - amongst Amish and Englischers alike. Now Sarah wonders if she's being punished for her pridefulness…or whether there's a more malevolent will at work.

Story
Lt John Holdsworth, an injured veteran from Waterloo, is now steward for a large estate in Scotland. Catriona Craig is the adopted daughter of Lord Craig, whose only interests lie in growing herbs and healing people. Can two unlikely friends find healing together? Can he overcome the shadows of his past and accept her love?
Summary
Angelique is a short story.
"The Marquise de Chabernet, her French grandmother, had fixed her with glittering eyes and told her when she was but 10 years old, 'If there is something that you want in this life, mon ange, do not believe anyone who says you cannot have it.'"
But Angelique, living with the Duke and Duchess of Saith and their daughter beautiful Rosalind feels too distant from hope to want anything. And then she sees handsome, wicked Sir Rafael Villiers, and she knows her Destiny. It is time for the plain and timid Miss Torrington to remember she is also a de Chabernet, and her grandmother's daughter. But Villiers is interested in her beautiful cousin - so how can she get his attention?
Can Angelique pull it off? With the help of Rosalind's brother, her amused confidant Ferdinand, she just might do it.
Alicia Cameron has been called "a worthy successor to Georgette Heyer" and has been beloved by fans of Jane Austen. Here is another witty short story, full of romance and adventure to warm the heart and make you laugh.

Delightful short story.
Just under 54 mins of audio, this delightful romance is sweet and Cinderella-like. It was a wonderful escape and filler between the longer stories I tend to listen to. If you are looking for a short, delightful and clean audible experience, this is it.
I thoroughly enjoyed Helen Taylor’s narration.

It seems almost scandalous to give a short novella an unequivocal 5-Star rating. But there it is. This book captured my heart, my imagination, and my desire for the HEA that I so desperately desired. I loved every moment of Angelique’s dreamy story. You will too!!

Fluff
The story was technically okay, as well as clean and appropriate. However, the male character development seemed shallow. The plot, such as it was, required the two male supporting characters to arouse interest and have a believable response to the h. I wasn't interested and didn't find their responses credible. Therefore, the story fell flat for me, even though Helen Taylor's narration was excellent.

It started out great...
Strong potential sadly cut short. It felt as though the author lost interest and just “wrapped it up”. I wish I had looked at the length before listening.
