This is the best audio book on learning I've seen.

The best audio book ever on speed learning. The author successfully dived into various techniques of accelerated learning that listeners are unconscious about and have never explored; thus practically cementing the strategies on the minds of listeners.

Good methods and inspires to do better

I found that this book helped to inform me of new methods while confirming some of my current methods.

I also found that it inspired me to study which increased my overall enjoyment while studying.

Really good book that everyone should read!

I really think it's imperative for people to learn how to actually learn. So often we neglect this really important aspect of ourselves and just follow general strategies which we pick up second handedly. This book shows practical and really simple steps to methods that have been proven to work and work well. I'll be applying these immediately, alongside revising this book in a month or so to really nail down the techniques. Really solid practical book.

Beneficial read

l studied law for six years part time and worked full time back in 1999. l wished that this book was available then. There were some tips l already knew but other tips like flash cards l found to be useful. Listening to this audio did encourage me to look at revising my study methods as l am learning another language (also there was a chapter written on learning a new language). lt gave me a fresh perspective.

Help appreciated by this dyspraxic adult learner

while I don't think I have room in my life for all the flash cards the auther advises us to use (just to messy, sorry) I'm sure my notes from the book will be invaluable and I've drawn up a new schema for study to improve my memorization. recommended

Ok but lacks deeper insights

On the positive side, the book is quite condensed, without too much fluff, and generally easy to follow, being clearly organised in short, thematic chapters.

However, while the book lists a number of techniques, it lacks deeper insights how to implement them and train your memory. The choice of authorities to quote is also rather peculiar, as it includes a Youtuber Thomas Frank, and even infamous Tai Lopez, rather than actual researchers and scientific publications. The book is also quite heavy on exam preparation, which I personally didn't find very useful.

To summarize, it's an ok book to blast through as a refresher or to make a list of topics for further research.

Great purchase

This book has taught me 12 new facts about learning, so I am very pleased that I purchased. I would recommend to anyone interested in learning how to learn, as there are tips for newcomers to this field and people who have researched this alike.

Plagiarizer

Would you try another book from Ian Tuhovsky and/or Randy Streu?

I'm sorry Ian Tuhovsky, but after reading a plethora of learning books by a wide variety of authors and experts, I confidently believe your book Accelerated Learning is a work of plagiarism. Not only is the information you present by other authors, but how you present it. I see no value in your work so not only would I not try another book from you, but I encourage listeners to not support plagiarizing authors like you!

Disappointed

I only had to listen to a quarter of it to realize there are no new, innovative, or modern tips and techniques here. It's just a rehash of other people's work, almost to the point of plagiarism.

I encourage people not to support books such as these that monopolize on other people's hard work.

Great read and it helps!!

This book makes sense! It’s easy to read and just plain helps. One concept, in particular, try speaking to yourself in the second or third person, has been very helpful to me and I had not encountered it in any other similar books.

Very helpful & easy read!

The way this book is written is very conversational. It feels like he’s speaking directly to the reader. I also like that it is blunt and to the point, without coming across as callous or lacking details. I love how the information is given and the tools that are suggested are incredibly practical.

Simple guidelines

The Science of Self-Talk seems quite evident once we finish reading the book. It’s not genius but practicality the author shares with us. We have to stay detached from our thoughts, whether they are good or bad.

Practical tools included

I have taken action before this book, and I found this as a good confirmation of what I have done and that I have done it the right way. I was happy to see that this book was based on research and how that research backed up the instructions and tasks given in the book.

Very practical book

I like books that are practical and concrete. The books of Ian are exactly like this. They are not long they feel to be short, but it's because there is no fluff. It's a good use of your time to grab this book and read it, as it gives a huge amount of value.
