The Syrian plane disintegrated, evaporating in a gush of silvery smoke, rent through with bright white lightning, and the ejecting pilot's body was blown clear of the fuselage. For an instant it was outlined ahead of David's screen, cruciform in shape with arms and legs thrown wide, the helmet still on the head, and the clothing ballooning in the rush of air.

A magnificent end to a wonderful trilogy
I read when the lion feeds many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it . However, reading it again, together with the enthralling narration by Sean Barrett added so much depth to the story that I just had to keep reading the rest of the trilogy. I have always
been an avid reader but I can confidently say that this is probably the best advert there can be for Audible.

Truly Outstanding
Wilbur Smith has to be one of the finest authors out there. His books are truly outstanding and this one was no exception. I usually tire of book series by the time I get to the third book but I purchased the next book in this series right away. Smith can weave a fine story and the Courtney series has to be among the most powerful books I have read. Wilbur Smith is now my new favorite writer.

Good but not great
This was not one of my favorite Wilbur Smith books. There was too much romance for me. I think Wilbur is better with action. Also, the protagonist Mark Anders was not a very compelling hero. I preferred the other books where Sean Courtney was the central character. All in all it was good but not great.

the narrator was very good, I found his voice relaxing and easy to listen to.
the story always had me questioning what would happen next, and then surprise or shock me. Almost all of my emotions were felt reading this book. I found the dog fight scene very difficult to listen to and actually skipped it. But otherwise loved this book

a Sparrow falls / Wilbur Smith / Sean Barret
I have read all of the books written by Wilbur Smith, that on it's own tells a story. Since I have started procuring the Audible copies to enjoy them once more. This is the second copy narrated by Sean Barret, which I have thoroughly enjoyed and which complements the well written and researched book.
