Summary
Laurence Sterne's A Sentimental Journey Through France and Italy was first published just before his death in 1768. Ralph Richardson plays The Reverend Mr. Yorick (Sterne thinly disguised) during his amorous journey through France. Love beckons and the Shakespeare-loving Comte de Brissac saves him from a French prison.
"Theatre Royal" is a series of radio dramas owned and restored by Heritage Media, part of the Divine Art Recordings Group. First broadcast in 1953-4, it was the only radio series in which Laurence Olivier played dramatic roles. Other leading actors included Ralph Richardson, Orson Welles, Margaret Lockwood, Alec Guinness, Robet Donat and Trevor Howard.
