About this listen

What makes someone leave home at the age of 16 to move to another country all by himself?

What drives a person pursue a professional kitesurfing career even though there is no sea where he is from?

Why would someone study six years of medicine just to not work as a medical doctor after graduation?

How did the same person go from complete bankruptcy to financial independence in just a few years by moving to Asia?

Julian, the author of the book, was asked these and many more questions throughout his entire life. Many of the answers did not make any sense at the time when he took the decision but make absolute sense looking backwards.

The beautiful part of these stories he has around his answers is that anyone can not only relate to them, but moreover draw important conclusions for his or her own life. Julian's thought processes are not rocket science. At the end, there are no good or bad decisions in life - only decisions that you make or don't make. Sometimes you just need a little bit of reassurance that you are on the right track, and this book will give you that.

The 25 stories contain much more wisdom than can be summarised in 25 story summaries. I like Julian reading it himself, it makes it very authentic. The large variety is impressive! From just selling sandwiches at school to explaining investment strategies people find many topics they wished they would have known when they were younger. In my view, the book will have an impact for young and old. However, my recommendation: it's a perfect read for teenagers and young adults having started their journey of enlightenment.

Gosh, a story filled with patents’ cruelty to the edge of child neglect.
Hope the author now earns enough from selling this story to afford a good therapist.
