しかし、著者と知人の外国人男性は、摩訶不思議なニッポンの裁判制度の闇に迷い込んでしまいます。どこに行っても、悪い人には会わず、善意の人ばかりなのに、簡易裁判所と地方裁判所をたらいまわしにされ、少額の保険金と賠償が得たいだけなのに、多大な時間と労力を費やすことになってしまいました。一日で終わるはずが、決着を見るまでに何と二年半の歳月が流れていました。
