Marie Villegas is a retired Air Force veteran and is currently working as an IT Senior Project Manager within the intelligence community. She earned an undergraduate and three graduate degrees specializing in business management, business administration, and IT informatics, as well as being certified in Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). She is passionate about connecting leadership lessons from pop culture to real-world project management. Marie enjoys building strong teams, mentoring new leaders, and yes, watching movies and shows for inspiration! She embraces the various challenges that each experience brings and turns them into highly useful golden nuggets of knowledge to not only strengthen her skillsets but those of her teammates. Her love of reading and writing began in her early years in elementary and high school and has continued ever since. As an avid reader, she is an aspiring author and humbly welcomed the opportunity to contribute to co-author the book, "Projectland Goes To The Movies". By combining these two loves, she hopes that her work inspires others. When she is not out playing "Wonder Woman" at work, she looks forward to any opportunity to disconnect from technology and can be found reading a book from her endless TBR (To Be Read) list or off planning her next travel adventures across the U.S. and overseas. And when she is feeling like a social butterfly, she is spending quality time with family and friends in New York, Washington, DC or Virginia.
