Krishna Das Ray, affectionately known as K.D. Ray, was born in India in 1924. He pursued his education and medical degree in India before moving to Britain in 1955, where he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. His career then took him to Nigeria, where he served as an officer and physician in the British Colonial Service for a decade. Eventually, Dr. Ray settled in Nova Scotia with his family, where he dedicated seventeen years to his profession. The Medical Society of Nova Scotia recognized his exceptional contributions to surgery, which honored him as a Senior Member. His memoir, Echoes Across Continents, was completed shortly before his passing in 2015 at the age of ninety-one.
