Kathryn C. Lavelle is the Ellen and Dixon Long Professor of World Affairs at Case Western Reserve University. Her research specializes in international relations with a focus on multilateralism. The author of four books and a fifth forthcoming, she has received fellowships from the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars; American Political Science Association (APSA); and University of Toronto, where she held the inaugural Fulbright Research Chair at the Munk Centre for Global Affairs. As an APSA congressional fellow in the 2006-7 academic year, she worked on the staff of the House Committee on Financial Services. Earlier, she worked in the U.S. embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania as a State Department intern. Her new book project explores the history of American foreign relations in the Arctic.
